A pectoral depicting the deity Khepri in the form of a winged scarab beetle. Khepri is the god of creation, rebirth and the rising of the sun. The formation spells the prenomen (i.e., throne name) of King Tutankhamun, who reigned circa 1336-1327 BCE under the 18th Dynasty. It reads 'Neb-kheperu-re,' meaning 'Lordly Manifestation of [the sun god] Re. The item is made of gold inlaid with silver, lapis lazuli, turquoise, carnelian, calcite, feldspar and multicolored glass paste, and was found in the king's tomb. This masterpiece is now temporarily housed in the Conservation Center of the under-construction Grand Egyptian Museum.
