hi forever the anon that loves phyllis carey! i was going through my old likes and found your post for her and now i’m back to being obsessed with her. if you don’t mind me asking, how does the relationship with her and charles progress??
Honestly, I would love to talk about Phyllis and Charles because I think their relationship is so cute. Also I apologize for the wait on this one! I was busy but I wanted to answer your question properly so I waited until I had enough time to give you a good answer. Thank you for your love of Phyllis, I love her a lot as well.
Phyllis Carey and Charles Xavier meet in 1968. Prior to meeting him in person, however, Phyllis already had a vision of Charles due to the nature of her powers. Her precognitive powers allowed her to see a vision of the future where Charles would lose the ability to walk because of Erik, but she had no idea who Charles was at the time and had no idea what any of that had to do with her. When she meets Charles, she instantly recognizes him while he has little information about her.
He is intrigued by her at first because of her special abilities, and think she’s a very talented and powerful mutant. She doesn’t agree with him about this at first because she has grown up to be afraid of her powers.
I honestly love them because Charles works with her so that she becomes comfortable with her powers. He gains her trust and she surprises him in return which I love. Phyllis is a shy girl and Charles is the person who opens her up.
They gain a mutual respect for each other before they develop feelings for each other. Phyllis used her powers early on to realize that she was going to grow to love him while Charles was surprised by his growing affection for her. He didn’t realize he was in love with her until he was already deep in it.
In 1968, Charles Xavier met Phyllis Carey and was never the same for it. Following the Cuban Missile Crisis, Charles struggled to keep his school for mutants afloat, as the threat of the war seemed to be on everyone’s minds. Teachers and older students were drafted, leaving Charles with very little people left in his life. In one last attempt, Hank enhances Cerebro in hopes of finding other mutants to attend Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. The most promising and powerful of all mutants they find is Phyllis, an extraordinary young woman with the power to see the past, present, and future. But her power of clairvoyance only plagues the young woman, as she is haunted by horrific visions. Charles tries to help her through, growing attached to her, but there’s nothing he can do when Phyllis sees a vision of her own demise. After all... her visions are never wrong.
hi can I like know anything more about Phyllis Carey??? because I love her so much
I’d be happy to tell you more about my precious child, Phyl.
Phyllis Carey is an original character that I’ve been working on for awhile now. She is a part of the X-Men, and her story fills in the gap between First Class and Days of Future Past. She’s 28 years old and was born in Pennsylvania. Phyl was admitted into a mental asylum at the age of thirteen years old, in the year 1953, by her mother who grew impatient with the young girl’s hallucinations. Her mutation started to develop from a young age, growing more intense by the time she hit puberty. She has the power of clairvoyance, which means she has the power to gain information about just around anything using her mind. Her powers give her certain precognitive abilities, which happen to her a lot. She has no control over her powers, and they manifest mostly through visions those at times they could through her by either sound or sense. Her powers are pretty cool, but Phyl has grown up to be afraid of them because they cause her so much pain. Her powers have made her a little shy. She doesn’t like to develop relationships with most people because she always ends up having visions about them. Before she met Charles, she already has a vision about him, and he’s one of the only mutants she feels understands her because he has similar powers.
Though that doesn’t stop her from growing a close relationship with Hank. The two grow to be close friends, where they’re very protective of each other. Phyl is initially scared of Hank after seeing his blue beastly form, but then she learns that there is nothing about Hank that is harmful towards her. They have a really nice relationship, and Phyl does consider him one of the first friends she makes.
Phyl has also has a little brother who is also a mutant. She knew about him for years, but when they finally meet she doesn’t admit to him that she’s his older sister. His name is Daniel Carey, but he goes by Danny mostly. His ability is a little different from his sister’s. Danny has the power of mediumship, which is the ability to communicate with the dead. Unlike his sister, Danny can’t see the future and how people are going to die, but he does have the ability to sense when death is approaching. Later on he discovers that along with his ability to communicate with the dead, Danny has the power to reanimate the dead and control their bodies.
Her superhero name as a member of the X-Men is Blackbird. Her little brother’s superhero name is Phantom. (And yes, I realize, Danny Phantom, that is entirely on purpose)
