Sony has managed to piss off MILLIONS of gamers ALL AROUND THE WORLD with their decision of stopping producing physical discs January 2028.

Not only that BUT now game developers have gone mad at Sony as well. All the hate what Sony has gotten, still does, is reaching for the game developers too (even that they are innocent in this). Not only this BUT their game selling is going down and are losing jobs as well. Sony is taking them with them in this shit well.

AND! Sony also has managed to PISS OFF Anime fans! Crunchyroll is owned by Sony, SO~, Sony has decide to put everything behind PAYWALL. With smallest price you can watch anime, second highest allows you to access their store, most expensive price allows you to buy their exclusive stuff. But this is not all!

Sony has announced that they will STOP producing ANIME AS PHYSICAL DISCS as well!

Sony is also BEING SUED / INVESTIGATED in many countries because of their monopoly!

I... I have no words to this! How INSANE Sony has become all of the sudden! Don't those old farts realize they CAN'T get the money with them when they die?! I, kind of, want to live in a hope that whenever current Sony owners kick the bucket, new owners would be smarter and stop this madness. Bring back discs (if Sony won't change their mind before that), drop the prices, give better consumer rights etc.

I had a vision that a new console entered the race that was purple and crystal themed, and looked kinda like those transparent techs from the 2000s, mixed with the glowing PC effects of today. The base had a disc port and the crystal body could be swapped out for new hardware gem-erations.

There was a cheaper mini version of the console that used cartridges instead of discs, and cartridges looked like gems that would glow when plugged in. You could insert multiple cartridges.

The company that made this is big into preservation, and they have a policy that games in their library have definitive editions produced (usually after full development and DLC releases) that do not need patches or internet to function. Online games as well need an offline mode and work.

Sony Need A Reality Check

I’m starting to think that the executives at Sony are stuck sniffing each other’s farts, and are really liking the aroma.  It’s the only way I can explain their corporate behavior, giving the finger to their customer base and then not even pretending to care when they are upset by it.  It’s like they think they have infinite money, and that everyone is just going to buy what they sell, regardless…

I decided to drop into a charity shop whilst walking home today and found they had a purple Gamecube for £15 and a collection of games for only £3. I already own a few of that particular console, so I left the purple cube on the shelf. However I was definitely interested in the stack of lovely little mini discs. Especially so as the previous owner had some pretty good taste in games:

- Killer 7 - Resident Evil Zero - Eternal Darkness - Timesplitters 2 - Burnout 2 - Starfox Assault (Perhaps not perfect taste) - Gauntlet Dark Legacy  (Yeah, not all so good)

I find it much more rewarding to play on actual old consoles, rather than emulation. However I’m less picky about playing using physical discs, mostly down to the expense and difficulty in sourcing original games.

However stumbling across a fantastic haul of classic games at a bargain price will always be a joy. Having the physical originals is certainly the most authentic experience, when it’s available.
