I Smell a Discovery || Calvin & Ondorus
It was rare when Ondorus put down his disguise. It was a spell that he maintained every second that he was outside the safe walls of his new home. While it required some level of concentration at all times, he was used to it enough that it had become an afterthought. Something that he didn’t need to even think about anymore. Whenever he went outside of his home, he would cast his illusory magic. And when he returned, he would take it off the same as one taking off a light jacket upon walking through the door.
However...that ease also gave way to recklessness.
And when Ondorus encountered a feral monster - not one so easily open to conversation - it was easy to forget to maintain certain magics.
It happened in the Azuria Ruins, as the sun neared the horizon. Ondorus had encountered several smaller monsters, though had unfortunately gotten taken by surprised. And though Ondorus could make short work of them all after some concentrated efforts from his wind magic...
It unfortunately cost him the concentration of his illusory magic on himself.
It was soon after the fight, Ondorus letting out a winded breath as he looked down at a few scratches the monsters had managed to land on his arm. They were all nothing to worry about. While Ondorus wasn’t a healer by any means, he was sure that he would be fine once he patched himself up at home. He could only hope that those monsters had gotten some sense knocked into them, and that they would learn to behave more kindly towards his kind in the future.
A few seconds too late, and Ondorus realized that his illusion had gone down. He sighed, looking around to see if anyone was nearby to see his true self. And, fortunately, he didn’t seem to spot anyone.
Ondorus quickly put up his illusion again, appearing to be a regular elven man once again, and he quickly began walking away.
