And with this, I now have at least one Link OC in all three parts of the split section of the LoZ timeline LOL
Idk much about his story yet except obviously I want there to be a lot of flight elements so my boy here can have the time of his life! He's def got some competitive rivalry going on with some Rito his age - they are constantly trying to beat each other at mail sorting, and the lack of wings is often used as a jab, but Link is besties with the daughter of the chieftain so there, take that!
There are some things in his design some might find familiar... Can any of you figure out what they are?
I don't want to draw her dress 😔 My least favorite part of drawing Zeldas..... It's just a pain....
Anyway here's a sneak peek of Pilot's Zelda
Trying to decide what to call her... Wings? Feather? Glider? The funny but confusing option is Sail, because I've got a Pilot Link and a Pilot Clone (Star Wars) OC, and Pilot the clone has a bestie named Sail, so if I call her Sail, I'd have another Pilot/Sail duo
Anyway if anyone has ideas lemme know (for bonus context, I'm thinking of giving her a spell that lets her fly for short periods of time. Semi transparent fancy golden light wings or smth. Can fly Link over short gaps n stuff until he can get the stuff needed to fly himself.)

Pilot's Zelda goes with Link (or more, drags him with her) to assist/lead!
"You know, we princesses have a history of coming along in disguise to help the hero, no matter what happens! Even if we get kidnapped, we can't be stopped! Ah.. but if I get kidnapped, you'll come save me, right...?"
Yes, she's taking after her ancestors in donning a disguise and getting to work instead of sitting back and twiddling her thumbs. She's assertive, opinionated, vain, and very intense. (Some traits really run in the family...) Loves to bring up the fact that there's pirates in her ancestry. She thinks the past Zeldas who Did Stuff are the coolest ever and goes on about what they did and "I aspire to be as awesome as them! Er, I mean, I'm already as awesome as them! I just haven't had a chance to prove it!"
She has a flight spell she can use that has symbolic, glowing golden wings, semi transparent, that are behind her. Works for only short bursts as it uses a lot of magic, but she can carry Link those short distances. He begs her to teach him, she tries, he goes splat as usual and she's like man. Your affinity for magic sucks.
Shield spell costs less magic than the flight spell.
Has a bow of light but since the monsters aren't Ganondorf-dark, it works more like a normal bow and arrow than anything extra fancy. Maybe a few enemies it's a bit more effective on, and enemies that it does absolutely nothing for (like Darknuts)
Anyway, one day there's a knock at Link's door. His mom answers. It's. A big fluffy coat bundle. Can't even see the face. Think Zunari's coat if the fuzz of the hood had been yanked hoodie string style.
"(sniff) I'm here for Link."
.... "Uh. Link? Do you know this person?"
(Link peeks around) "Mom, you know everyone I know. If it's not a Rito, they're a stranger to me too!"
Anyway she insists she needs his help with something (and she's in disguise atm. Which has brown hair for context) and he's like. I mean. Sure I guess? So he helps her (honestly it's very simple. Idk what the task is but it's... Not that hard to accomplish.) and from that, she's decided yes, this is the hero.
Zelda: Hah! I knew it! You're the hero! Alright, now that I've confirmed it, I'll reveal to you my true identity. Please don't feel betrayed... I had to disguise myself for my safety. (Transforms)
Link: You're... Blonde. Um, okay. It's... A good color on you?
Zelda: That's not the point! (Thank you though.) I'm the princess!
Link: ... Princess who?
Zelda: .... WHAT DO YOU MEAN, PRINCESS WHO? PRINCESS ZELDA OF THE ROYAL FAMILY OF NEW HYRULE!! (You're ruining my dramatic introduction!)
Link: How was I supposed to know? A princess is just the daughter of an important guy.
Zelda: That is an incorrect generalization! You Rito have a chieftian, right?! Are you saying his daughter would be a princess???
Link: (Hehe.. you Rito...) That's not what she's called, but her dad sure treats her like one.
Zelda: (scoff) Every dad does that. Besides, other princesses don't matter. I'm literally the most important princess out there! And I need you to come with me to save New Hyrule!
Link: Uhhhhhhh??? (That seems rude to other princesses...) You seem pretty capable, what do you need me for?
Zelda: It's important! It was prophesied in my dreams!
Link: But important why.
Zelda: Every princess knows a dream of prophecy must not be ignored! And in my dream, I saw someone who looked like you!
Link: Soooo... You had a dream about a blond guy. That doesn't mean anything.
Zelda: His name was Link!
Link: I can't be the only guy out there with that name.
Zelda: It was in a snowy region!
Link: Could've taken place in the winter.
Zelda: And there were Rito!
Link: They're the mailmen. They could be anywhere!
Zelda: MY INSTINCTS ARE NEVER WRONG, OKAY?? (multiple times thru adventure, they are wrong)
Link: Yeah, look, um, I've got a family, and my folks would worry if-
Zelda: I'll fund your whole flying venture.
Link: I'm in. Man, why didn't you lead with that???
Another thing I can imagine-
Zelda, yanking Link away from something he wandered over to investigate while she was examining a map: AAAH, WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? Those can kill you!!! ((She's done some studying, she knows Some Stuff))
Link: How was I supposed to know? 😭 You said I was important but all you do is yell at me :(( why am I even here???
Zelda: Well... Well I'm sure not every hero started out the perfect hero! You just have to learn! One of the recorded heroes was a boy raised in the woods. Another? A nobody islander! Just because you're a nobody doesn't mean you can't do great things, so cheer up, okay?

Anyway she seems pretty brave and stuff but there are certain things that spook her really bad. She'll charge into a room and then immediately duck behind Link like "Haha, y-you got this... Go get em, Link...!"
In some of the moments he's having the time of his life, she is... Absolutely not LOL
"Haha! That was awesome! I bet I looked super cool, right, Zelda?" ... "Uhh... Zelda?" (She is like. 😵💫 Half passed out on the floor.)
If this were a game, I like to think there'd be buttons to direct her to use certain spells, and she'd go, "Don't tell me what to do!" and do it anyway, or "I was already going to do that!" before carrying out the command lol
