Before there was “Look ma, no hands!” There were training wheels... In yoga as in life, if you want to get somewhere, figure out the steps you need to take. Make a plan, take action, and never be afraid to ask for help. After over a decade of teaching, I’m still baffled by the number of students who resist props. I start every class with a pile by my mat and consistently refer to and use blocks, mats and straps. Props are not a cheat. They don’t make you less of a yogi and you don’t achieve enlightenment (or poses) faster by ‘pushing through’ without. These were my first successful repeated attempts at a straddle #pinchapress and there’s no way I’d get here without my training wheels. Maybe one day I won’t need them, but until then, I’m going to keep on pedaling and enjoy the ride... #onestepatatime https://www.instagram.com/p/BnOyi0YliCZ/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=j9jb17z4e02l
