HI! I really need your help to find a Jily fic I can’t remember the title. I looked it up first on your tags, but no sign of the fic there. I remember the plot very vaguely, just that James dates an oc (I think her name was julia, but I’m not sure), but he is still in love with lily. There is a death eater attack in hogsmeade and while J and L fight the DE, Julia (?) is captured and murdered. James feels guilty and distances himself from Lily etc. there is a lot of mutual pining and angst. Happy ending for sure. If you could help me, I’d be super thankful (I’m thankful regardless of your answer. This blogs is amazing)

"Jesus Christ! Just hop off my dick for once! You're not entitled to know everything I'm feeling!" Lily, furious at this point and embarrassed at her outburst, hit the chair to emphasise her point. While James wasn't allowed to pick at her emotions the way he did, she knew her tantrum was more in reaction to her unreturned feelings for him. She was frustrated that he had charmed her into falling for him and then proceeded not to care. While it was unfair to blame him for her emotions, she needed an outlet, and accusing him was the next best thing.

James just looked at her, angrily breathing heavily through his nose. He was clenching his jaw, a trait that Lily found so damn attractive, making her even more upset. Sexual frustration was the last thing she needed.

"Right, well, if you're just going to yell at me, then I think I should leave. We're tired. Goodnight, Potter," Lily stated, knowing that this conversation wasn't going to go anywhere. She put her hand on the door handle to open it to leave.

"Wait, Lils," James said, suddenly not upset anymore. He lurched across her and pulled the door shut, hand over hers on the handle. Lily looked at his hand on top of hers and then looked up at him, calmer under his touch. He was rubbing his thumb over her hand. The hostility was suddenly forgotten.

This was because their faces were close, close enough that she felt his breath hitch when he realised what he had done. She saw how his eyes darted from her eyes to her lips, and they were so close that her first instinct was to lean in and kiss him.
