These Fork and Flower Pink Sugar Cookies are a delectably sweet and charmingly pink treat for any occasion. These cookies are not only delicious but also visually appealing due to their buttery, melt-in-your-mouth texture, a subtle hint of vanilla, and a touch of pink.
Ingredients: 1 cup butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2-3 drops pink food coloring. 2 cups all-purpose flour. teaspoon baking powder. teaspoon salt. Extra granulated sugar for rolling.
Instructions: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and pink food coloring until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape the chilled dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Roll each ball in extra granulated sugar, coating it evenly. Place the sugar-coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Use a fork to gently press down on each dough ball, creating a crisscross pattern. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
