August 1, 2020 Max effort bench Max effort pin presses for my Saturday bench work. Got this idea from @notmrsdonjohnson and her crew. 315 for a last warm up and then 365 for a raw top set. Put on the slingshot and pressed 405 for three singles. All presses were at lockout point in order to strengthen this part of my bench. Not videoed is a small PR I set on back downs of 325 for a double in the slingshot as well. Last time I tried this weight I barely got a single. Man, I'm starting to get pretty strong! Bench felt a little off today, not as much pressing power as I'd like. Pin presses with the comp bar to start, 5×5 working up to 185 for top set. 5×5 with the swiss bar, using all 3 grip widths and working up to 185 as well for top set. 5×5 with the camber bench bar, doing slight pause reps working up to 225. Finished with 3×15 of the Tate press, and 3×10 rowing the camber bar from a bench. This last accessory revealed my weak point of the day, my lagging rear delts.
