This map shows what the city of Port Royal looked like before the earthquake of 1692. Prior to the earthquake, Port Royal was English base that supported the buccaneer raiders who sacked Spanish shipping and colonies. The island of Jamaica was initially the property of Spain until a failed attack on Cuba lead English privateers to occupy Jamaica instead. The famous privateer Henry Morgan was burried in Port Royal after his death on August 25, 1688. Unfortunately, his grave was lost during the destruction of the city.

Well I do love my Ogres. :-) For christmas someone gave me a pack of Ogre bulls and as I already have a bunch of them I decided to become creative and make myself some Ogre maneaters. Well the moment I started to think of different cool conversions I instantly thought of pirates. Then I had some other ideas too and well, you will see the “others” in the next few weeks.

These two obviously are the pirate maneaters. I used my big bag of bitz extensively and even bought some more bitzs (like the pistols and hats and the little monkey etc.). The jacket, by the way, I cut out of thick paper and the leather straps are rubber bands.

Anyway I think that they turned out very well. They really look pretty piratey. :-)
