Kronide mama Luke au, in a hypothetical scenario where Zeus frees the rest of his siblings from Kronos' stomach a lot earlier than anyone expected, and Luke's exasperated and confused about the six divine children (and future elder Olympians) following him around like ducklings and calling him mama.
He vents to Amalthea about it one day, saying how they should tell the Kronides about their real mother (Rhea), and "I'm not their real parent, for heaven's sake!"
Just then, a creak at the door catches his attention.
When he turns, he sees six godly kids staring at him from behind the door.
Hera, the one at the very front, looks at him, eyes wide.
"Mama..." She mumbles. "Mama doesn't want to be our mama?"
"Um," says Luke. He immediately turns to Amalthea, whose expression, even on a goat's face, plainly says: 'you brought this on yourself'.
"Listen," Luke tries to explain. "You've got a real mother. Her name is Rhea. She's the one who gave birth to you..."
Hera's large brown eyes begin to take on a glossy shine.
Her lower lip begins to tremble.
"Hey, hey," Luke cuts in, "don't —"
"Mama doesn't want Hera!" Hera wails, bursting into tears.
"— cry." Luke finishes belatedly. He sighs, palming his face.
And, because some higher power up there loves to make Luke's life miserable, this proceeds to set off the other kids. Demeter begins to cry alongside her younger sister, and Hestia sniffles tearily and wipes quietly at her eyes. Poseidon's eyes are wide and angry — but also red-rimmed and glassy —, and Hades looks down at the ground, small hands fisting the hem of his tunic. Zeus stares at Luke like he'd driven a sword straight into his chest.
Someone, Luke thinks fervently, please put me out of my misery. Preferably as soon as possible.
He then spends the rest of the day consoling six tearful children, telling them over and over again that no, he doesn't hate them, and no, he's not going to throw them away, Hera please stop crying.
I definitely need to tell them about Rhea, he vows with renewed determination. They'll get off my back once they know.
