It just feels very like Zeus to do that to her, not even bc she was dying, but bc he didn't know if she was going to choose to save Olympus, so he needed her off the board. I guess that's me placing my bets for a scene that I'm sure is comig up soon

I think this show is gonna lead into a much more nuanced view of the gods, and the promise Percy has them make in the end is gonna have way more weight

Also I'm very curious to see how we're gonna evolve Thalia from the girl who is furiously asking where Luke is, to the daughter of Zeus who joins the Hunters... I'm curious to see what the Hunters look like anyway tbh, but especially curious to see how Thalia will be once caught up to the current goings-on. She will not want to be Zeus' weapon, and probably be a lot more tempted to join Luke than Annabeth is, but she needs to be a character that still chooses not to join Kronos. Also, in book 5 the hunters do end up fighting on the side of the gods, they are Artemis's hunters after all, so does Thalia not want to fight in this war or does she not want to be this weapon?

So Clarisse and Chris will be going without Annabeth, or is Chris going to dip out and leave Clarisse by herself? I love that we get even a bit of focus on Chris, but is he still undetermined in this version? I didn't quite catch if they said he was a son of Hermes or undetermined. More heartbreaking if Hermes shows up, says you can't give up on family, all the while just, forgetting to claim Chris.

Also I love that we're zooming in on some of Luke's allied half-bloods a bit more. In the books he always seemed to stand alone among monsters even tho it was said that there were more half-bloods, so it's nice to actually see them and learn more about some of them in the show!

Ooh Percy sees the problem with the safeword system! Though to be honest I do think Annabeth does honestly think this is what the prophecy is about, bc she thinks Percy wanting to kill Luke comes from a thirst for revenge (which might be correct tbh)

Interesting that they want to kidnap Luke now, let's see how that's going to fail

Oooooh yes i love this! S1 already hammered home the question of what makes someone a monster, and now Luke takes a side in exactly that: monsters are also just children of the gods. Also makes Luke's side all the more reasonable! And we can see that truth dawn on Percy, but also he's been raised by Sally, so he knows of the world other than the myth one, and immediately calls Luke out on that oversight, I like it

Hmm now that I'm thinking about it, the book explicitly excludes Tyson from the Great Prophecy by saying he's not a half-blood and therefore the Great Prophecy doesn't apply to him. I'm curious to see if that remains true in the show

Also i think this is headed to a very different finale where annabeth convinces luke to give clarisse the fleece to save thalia, so that'll be different anyway

I do like that we're getting more characters on Luke's side, Alison is a treat

As a change from the book, I kind of like that, as it's absolutely the same logic, just pulled to a different extreme! (Also this way Percy doesn't have to fail at tying her to the mast)

Wait her dream is unifying Percy and Luke??? And she succeeds in shanking the sirens? And then Athena shows up????

Okay interesting, tho i loved the book version of the sirens, so I'm not necessarily convinced by that change?? (Except if it's a double fake-out, and her mom showing up bc she bested the sirens is the siren song)

Okay yeah her mum showing up was indeed way too far fetched lol, but it does make sense that that's enough for Annabeth to fall for it

Well done Percy! No underwater bubble, but we did get Percy hauling Annabeth back to the boat
