Okay so I'm reading Chalice of the Gods and I'm only on chapter 7, don't worry it's spoiler free!

So you know how the important character of the chapter says "Nostalgia is the doorway back to youth" ? I find that so damn clever of Uncle Rick. Because that's exactly what this book is for readers who have been into the PJO fandom a long time, who read the og series when they were younger.

Sure it's also some kind of marketing plot for new and future new readers that'll come along with PJOTV, but in the same time it's a throwback to the original TLT trio, some good ol' nostalgia for us.

It may not be the point of the chapter, but I find this quote very meaningful, especially as the characters are growing and going to college, as we all did / will do. This nostalgia feels good.

I honestly found it pretty surprising how tense the situation was when Sally announced she was pregnant to Percy. On one hand, I know a running theme throughout was how P struggles to control his temper, and can be pretty explosive when overcome with emotion.

However, I honestly couldn’t picture him being anything but elated. Percy’s fatal flaw is personal loyalty! He is, and always has been, a huge mommy’s boy. His happiness was 100% anticipated, imo.

It was just funny to me how everyone seemed to hold their breath (Annabeth included) as he received this news… What were they expecting to happen? Did they think Percy would be angry? (???) would love to hear other’s thoughts.

Okay I've started reading Chalice of the Gods and while I am enjoying it. I just also keep thinking about it but subverted. That its Annabeth who has to get those letters (because children of Minerva shouldn't exist and she has to work off the 'debt') and her two best friends who won't leave her in the dirt.

It can start with her clearly hiding something. They have to figure it out and when she lets them help they shine.

Also, in COTG it literally mentions that she struggles to share her burdens/ problems with others if she can avoid it. It would be fascinating and let Annabeth shine while yes Percy can also be awesome.
