I LOVE NAKASHIRA NAKASHIRANAKASHIRANAKASHIRA
———————————————————♪
“Nakayama-kun, you’ve been staring at that book for an awfully long time.” Shirafuji had finally decided talk to the shorter male whom had been standing in the same spot for the past three minutes.
….which of course scared the blonde. “A- ah! Oh it’s you, Shirafuji.” Recovering from the shock, Nakayama picked up the nearest manga; after all, he couldn’t let the librarian know he was staring.
“Fufuu~ i didn’t know you were into that genre, nakayama-kun.” Looking up to see a smirking shirafuji, a puzzled nakayama glanced at the manga he picked up only to realise…two men were kissing on the cover. hequicklyshoveditbackontotheshelf.
“A-anyways… I was looking for formatting ideas from previous mangas.” Suddenly a lightbulb went off in his head. “Could you recommend any mangas you liked the formatting of?” With Shirafuji now scanning the shelves for his preferred mangas, Nakayama could stare all he wanted. Right?
Wrong. Dead wrong. Turns out Shirafuji took his job very seriously. “Ah, this manga was a best seller last year.” The lilac haired man explained as he placed another book onto the ever-growing pile of books in Nakayama’s hands. “Oh! This one has great formats!” Gods save Nakayama.
“Shirafuji! I cant hold three more on top of the twelve volumes you gave me already!” Nakayama tried reasoning as Shirafuji insisted that “another book wouldn’t kill you.” It might if the pile of books currently shaking in his arms continued to grow in size.
After what seemed like an eternity of bickering they finally settled on five volumes being checked out. (originally three but nakayama folded like an ironing board when shirafuji begged.)
“let me check those out for you, nakayama-kun~”
“i can check you out.”
who said that.
Nakayama stepped out of the library to light a cigarette after checking out those books; talk about a drag… first, his boss wouldn’t stop complaining. Now, he had to haul these thick volumes all the way back to his office-
“Nakayama - kun.”
Taking a drag from his cigarette, he turned around to see the taller male standing behind him with a manga in his hands. He couldn’t see the cover though he was pretty sure it was probably another shoujo manga.
“How many times must I tell you smoking is bad?”
“…gotta get rid of the stress somehow.”
“Then allow me.”
huh.
WHAT-
Shirafuji was now in front of Nakayama, snuffing out his cigarette and tossing it into a nearby bin. Matching the shorter male’s height to get a closer look at the now slightly flustered Nakayama. Holding the book up in his hands to over up their faces from bystanders, Shirafuji finally leaned in and captured Nakayama’s lips in a gentle kiss. On the cover of the book was the same two guys kissing from the book Nakayama picked up from the start.
“Have I ever told you this book was my favourite manga?”

The whisk stirred the cocoa mixture swiftly as you gripped the bowl. In the school kitchen, there were more students making chocolate than ever. It WAS Valentine's after all! You smiled as you poured the chocolate mixture into the mold and put it in the freezer. Bless the fact that you had mostly free periods today, you wouldn't have been able to do this otherwise!
White chocolate with popping candy, mini cookies, and jellybears! Rui would surely love it! Your mind wandered, imagining your boyfriend's elated reaction. He always has a sweet tooth, after all. You even had a locket to give to him along with the chocolate! He'd be so happy... Ah, just the thought brought a blush to your face.
Lost in your thoughts, you didn't even notice how an hour passed by. If it wasn't for the timer you had set earlier, you wouldn't have remembered that it was time to take the chocolate out!
You quickly opened the freezer and grabbed Rui's chocolate, setting it on the counter. You took it out of its mold, putting it in a nice heart-shaped box (NIRVANA REFERENCE??). You then reached into your pocket and took out a small locket, putting it next to the chocolate.
With a spring in your step, you put everything back in your bag and slung it over your shoulder. You texted Rui, asking if he could meet up with you at your place. No response yet... Oh well, you figured he'd respond soon. And with that, you left the school district, trotting back to your house.
✩★✩
As you plopped down onto the bed with a thud, your bag still in your hands, you heard a quiet 'ding'! Was that your phone? You ran a hand through your hair and glanced over at your screen. Rui! Wait a second... "Open the door~"? WAS HE ALREADY HERE? Couldn't he have said he was coming? Or at least confirmed that he was free? Ah, no time to waste, he's at the door! You quickly grabbed the box and shoved it into your closet before removing your school uniform and quickly putting on one of your sweatpants and baggy shirts.
You rushed to the door and swung it open, your hair slightly messy and expression startled.
"Were you that excited to greet me," Rui teased, chuckling.
"Shush. Just come in..." You sighed, closing the door as Rui took his shoes off.
"Alright, alright. But you're not denying being excited to see me," Rui giggled as he went up into your room, leaving you stunned and flustered. Rui had been over at your house plenty of times before, so at this point, he knew where everything was, but couldn't this guy wait for you?! With a half-hearted grumble, you followed along.
"Ah, your room is just as messy as always." Rui sat in front of your blocky TV the second he stepped foot into the room, his hands supporting his weight behind his back.
"It's called aesthetically messy, thank you very much," you snickered and sat next to him, resting your head on Rui's shoulder. You fell silent, staring at Rui's face from below. Damn him and his stupid purple hair, why was he so pretty?! Wait, you're staring! And Rui knew damn well you were staring!
"What? What's that smile for," you frowned, feigning Irritation.
"You tell me, you were the one ogling at me. Am I that captivating, my love," Rui stuck his tongue out as you sucked in a breath. You were caught red-handed!
"Just pick what game you wanna play already," you sighed, running a hand through your hair, and gestured to the CD with games on them. Rui nodded and picked up a CD with Mario Kart, inserting it in the DVD box (or whatever it's called idk brah).
Grabbing a joystick and handing the other one to Rui, you both sat criss-crossed. And with that, the game began!
★✩★
After a few rounds, your stomach growled, causing Rui to look over at you, his face contorting from mild surprise to a soft smile.
"Hungry," he asked, as you nodded absentmindedly, setting the joystick down.
"Wanna order ramen? I'm too lazy to actually go to the restaurant today" you offered and stretched, making an effort to sprawl yourself over Rui's legs.
Rui just nodded, pulling out his phone. After the order had been placed, he set his phone away, looking down at the relaxed boy that was slumped across his body. His gaze softened as he analyzed the other's features. Rui has done this so many times to the point where he was sure that there was nothing about you he hasn't spotted yet, but it was never enough. You were just so... Pretty!
However, to Rui's demise, you apparently noticed. And had a shit-eating grin on your face.
"What, am I that captivating," you copied Rui's previous statement smugly. Rui's eyes widened before letting out a small laugh.
"Yeah, what if you are?" he retorted playfully, making you sit up and lean in closer.
"Then you can stare for as long as you wish," you stated, voice barely above a whisper. Both the guys' gazes drifted down to each other's lips. Almost touching... Just when they were mere inches away, the doorbell rang. As if snapped out of a spell, they both immediately drew back, their faces flushed a crimson red.
"I'll go get that," Rui suggested, standing up and quickly leaving to get the takeout. Almost there... almost.
✩★✩
As the two ate their food, chatting about anything and everything; you remembered the box! This was probably a good time to give the gift, right?
"Hey, Rui! Whatcha think of getting dessert?" you inquired, slurping up the noodles in your bowl.
"Hm? I don't mind, do you have any space left in your stomach, though?" he hummed, drinking some of his broth.
"Yeah, how about chocolate?" you offered, silently praying Rui would agree to the idea.
He finished his bowl and let out a sigh of satisfaction before speaking up, "...alright. Didn't you say you didn't feel like going out, though? I could make the convenience store run for you if you'd like."
That's when you stood up, reaching into the closet for the box. Rui tilted his body curiously, trying to peek at what you were holding. Not wasting any time, you handed it to Rui quickly, your hands slightly shaky.
You exhaled a breath you didn't know you were holding in, "Here then- happy Valentine's!" Rui looked stunned, slowly accepting the gift and just... holding it for a little while. "You... You didn't have to," he smiled. He looked like he was going to cry from joy. Mission succeeded!
Before he could let his emotions take over, Rui opened the box to find the locket and chocolate.
"I made the chocolate myself. I thought you'd like it," you added as Rui just started at the box's contents.
"You did..? [Name]... You're the best," Rui said, embracing you tightly as the two of you toppled onto the floor. "ACK-! Rui..." You let out a breathy laugh and hugged back, breathing in your boyfriend's soothing scent. Damn even he himself smelled like sweets. Just how many of them does this guy have a day?
The two just stayed there for a while before you decided to break the silence, "You should probably try the chocolate now, hm? We wouldn't want my hard work to go to waste, right?" You grinned, pushing Rui back into a sitting position. Rui just nodded and grabbed the chocolate bar, taking a small bite.
"Oh! It has popping candy," Rui exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear. After swallowing the bite, he snapped off another piece of chocolate and brought it up to your lips.
"You should try it too. After all, you spent so much time making this. You should know how it tastes, too." Your eyes glanced at Rui's hand hovering next to your lips, eyes hooded; a faint pink tinting your cheek. Parting your lips slightly, holding Rui's hand with both your own, you took a bite from the piece of chocolate. Rui's breath hitched as you both just stared at each other. Ignoring the weird tension, you chewed your food and swallowed it. The sweet, now crushed by your teeth, treat slid down your throat... and after that, there was just pure silence in the room as the flustered couple looked at one another.
"Well.. Open the locket," you cleared your throat, the sweet aftertaste lingering on your tongue... making you wonder if Rui tasted the same thing right now. No, wait! Not the right time now! He still had a locket to open! You snapped out of your train of thought and shoved the locket into Rui's hands, making Rui snap out of his own little trance and peering the locket open with a compliant nod.
It was a picture of them both in their matching Halloween costumes from a few months ago. Rui stared at the picture and, without missing a beat, immediately put it on.
"Thank you. Seriously, I love this," he said, kissing his boyfriend's forehead. You leaned into his touch, satisfied. "Don't you think I deserve a kiss somewhere else for such an awesome gift?" you implied, pointing to your lips. Rui smiled before leaning in slightly. "Maybe you do," he said before he closed the space between them.
Both of the guys let out quiet, muffled sounds as they just held the kiss for a while, holding each other. Rui pulled away, his breath short and a contented look on his face... Then tackled you onto the ground, hugging you tightly. What a childish thing to do! (Not that you were complaining.)
"Let's just... Stay like this for a little while."
warning for underage drinking, but it's not extreme + unrealistic depiction of alcohol (getting drunk super easily)
"I think he's drunk."
An comments on Touya's current state, exhausted yet blissed out, silver irises zoning out and paying no heed to everything surrounding him.
"Probably." Akito agrees with her, blinking with confusion. Him and Kohane glance at each other, evidently concerned and soon frowning at An.
"You can't blame me— he's never tried alcohol before and asked for it." She retaliates with her arms crossed. "How was I supposed to predict this?"
Akito sighs at the ludicrosity of the dilemma.
"To be fair, you wouldn't really expect someone to get drunk that easily." Though you're defending An you can't deny that it was a stupid decision, this is exactly why Ken looked reluctant to leave the five of you at their place.
Touya finally speaks. "What? 'm not drunk."
Scoffing, Akito responds first. "Says the guy zoning out at his drink and gettin' flushed red."
"... the bubbles look pretty." Only proves Akito's statement.
"You're an idiot at times." Akito mumbles.
And for some reason Touya only bothers to acknowledge that. "But look!" He points the glass to his friend, almost spilling it, Akito reacts faster and pries it out of his hand.
"I'm sure they look very pretty, Touya." He grumbles under his breath, placing the glass out of his reach. Another glare is shot at An, who raises her hands in defeat.
"He wanted to try it!"
"None of us are over eighteen." Livid yet worried, Akito sighs. "Oi, what's the best lie for this situation. He can't go home like this."
"We could tell Ken that he fell asleep? And it's quite late already."
Silently, you thank the gods for Kohane's idea. "Ken's fine with us sleeping over without notice too. We'll be fine."
An shrugs, as if she weren't the cause of all of this. "It's legal when it's at home."
"With an adult." Touya still seemed dazed out, not heeding mind to the way both An and Akito were yelling. "Your dad wouldn't've let this happen."
"Kohane's basically an adult with her maturity?"
"Don't even try saying that. You let him drink while she was showering and while y/n and I went out to buy snacks."
As the two bicker, Kohane pinches your sleeve for your attention. "Should we stop them? Whether Aoyagi's okay or not is a priority."
In agreement you nod, accompanied by an exhausted sigh. "How about we bring Touya upstairs, to one of your guest rooms." Both An and Akito halt their arguing, intently listening to you. "He's probably just tipsy. He should be fine by the morning." Kohane nods, leaning down to eye level with Touya, who was slumped in his seat.
"Aoyagi, let's go." But he doesn't oblige, whining with soft incoherency instead. "Please?" Her plead is futile, as it goes completely ignored by Touya.
Akito steps forth. "I'll carry him." Toned arms reach for Touya's, the action only being reciprocated by a lazy slap.
"Mean."
He sighs for the nth time. "'m not mean, c'mon." It's futile though, Touya fights back, messily, his sloppy movements were enough to prevent Akito from being able to pick him up properly.
"I'll carry him." You volunteer, and thankfully Touya surrenders to you, relaxing as you haul him onto your back. "First guest room right?"
After nodding and beginning to clean up, An breathed out an apology and thank you, Akito gives up on scolding her, settling down on a seat next to Kohane.
Despite how tall he is, Touya was ridiculously light, allowing you to effortlessly carry him upstairs.
"You need to eat more..." And of course he doesn't respond. Soon you're carefully placing him in bed, searching for any signs of something wrong. You shield him from the cold with the blanket, watching him instinctively curl up into a ball.
"Are we alright now?" Everything seems to be fine, his face is still flushed red and he's basically unconscious, but he's not whining nor complaining. A lack of an answer tells to you to hurry up and leave, even if you already know he's unable to reply. "I'll go then. Good night Touya."
A tight grip on your wrist prevents you from leaving.
"What's wrong?"
"I need you here." He hiccups, now fully conscious.
"Why?"
"Because you're the best." He hiccups again.
"You're just saying that because you're drunk." You redirect his hand to himself, placing it by his side.
Pearly irises of silver stare at you, pleading for you to oblige his request. "No. It's because I like you."
You choke on your own spit at the declaration. "That's enough, just sleep." You've never encountered a drunk person, and it's unfortunate that Touya's the first because of an immature decision An made.
"Only if you'll stay."
Even when he turns eighteen, you note to yourself to never let him get drunk.
But it was refreshing to see Touya behave so childishly. For the time you've known him he's always been so adultlike, stoic and cold—juxtaposing the way An and Akito bicker, or Kohane's tendency to remain glued to a window whenever something piques her interest. The question has always plagued your thoughts, was it simply his personality or did his household not provide the luxury of being a child?
With a sigh you indulge in his request, sitting down on the bed. "You're kind of silly when you're drunk, you know?"
"'m not drunk! You're being like Akito."
"Like Akito?"
"Mean."
You remain silent, but you're stifling a laugh. It doesn't take long for you to give in, bursting out into laughter. "I promise I'm not mean. That's always going to be Akito's job."
"Then stop ignoring my feelings."
The first time it seemed like drunk non sense, drowsy and mindless. But the second time feels different, whether it be the genuine pout of his lips or the solemnity intertwined with his tone.
"It's not fairrr." Touya doesn't bother waiting for a response from you, rambling on while you listen carefully. "I like you so much but you're so far ahead. You're too pretty, how am I supposed to live without you? You're my safe place where I don't have to think about piano or dad. You're so good at sports, and smart, and speaking to people, you've even had alcohol before already."
Is that why he wanted to try some today...?
"You've had alcohol before too, dumbass." He only throws the blanket over his head, out of embarrassment.
"Do you like me too?"
The question repeats in your head, and the answer is obvious to you.
You arise from the bed, kneeling next to it where Touya was cowering underneath the blanket. "I do."
He peeps out of the covers, face wrapped in the doona, silver eyes wide with surprise. "Really?"
"Yes, but I'm not talking to you until you sleep properly, okay?"
Like an eager child, he falls for the bribery, closing his eyes and mumbling out a 'good night'. You reciprocate it, carefully tip toeing in order to let him sleep undisturbed— and on your way to deal with another problem, this time in the form of a certain musician who has a thing for drama.
"And then, you confessed! We got curious and listened through the door."
Touya averts his gaze, instead staring at the cup of black coffee warming his palms. Rose is chalked all over his cheeks as he listens to An recounting last night's events.
"By 'we' she means her." Akito grumbles while sipping from his hot chocolate. "I don't get why she's so obsessed. Congratulations though."
An throws an arm around you. "You should've seen the look on his face when Touya called him mean."
Akito opens his mouth to object, but Kohane speaks first.
"That must've been amazing though, if drinking gave you that much confidence to confess like that."
"Well it wasn't really confidence if I wasn't thinking at all, is it?" The conversation only permeates his cheeks into a darker pink.
"Did you like how alcohol tasted?" Legitimate curiosity is scrawled on her expression and traced onto her tone. "What's being drunk like?"
This time, Akito interrupts Touya. "Who knows? Wanna test it out? Maybe then you'll have the courage to confess to Shiraishi?" The comment leaves you and Touya shocked, eyes flitting between the three of them. An stares at Kohane, whom is already running away with her bag.
"Oi Kohane—come back!" With haste she pulls off her apron and sprints around the counter, tossing it god knows where. "Wait—"
Akito chuckles at the ordeal— the chaos he caused. "Oops. My bad."
(you both know that was damn intentional)

"Ah..." Rui's voice was quiet as he pulled back the curtains covering the windows of his room. Outside, the rain was relentless, pouring down seemingly endlessly and filling the room with the sound pitter-pattering raindrops. His amber eyes seemed to sparkle as he turned to glance at where you sat on his plush bed, yawning. "Looks like you'll have to stay the night."
"Eh?" You glanced up at the male, eyes widening. "S-Stay the night??"
The purple-haired man shrugged, a smile playing at his lips. "It's either that or~" He gestured toward the ongoing torrent outdoors. "Having to walk home though that."
"But-"
"It'll be fine~ After all, there isn't any school tomorrow, so I don't see why not... unless you have some other unknown motives?" Rui smirked at you as he strided over next to you, sitting at your side.
"It's not that..." You felt your face grow warm at his accusation. As subtly as you could, you cleared your throat and turned back to Rui. "But my parents would get mad at me..."
"I'll text them." Rui smiled at you, still waiting for you to come up with a better excuse. "They'll understand, and they'd trust an all straight-a's student~"
You highly doubted his statement, but protested nonetheless. "But there's only one bed-"
"But there are multiple sleeping bags. You take the bed, and I'll take the ground. How about it? And if you get too cold, we could always share one~" Rui didn't take his gaze off of you, his golden eyes watching your every embarrassed movement. Your face flushed at the sensation of someone watching you, but you felt something inside of you cave in.
"Alright..." you half-sighed, half-said, slumping your shoulders. You were way too tired to be dealing with this. "Whatever then. Let's do it."
"Do it?" Rui's smirk never let his face as his expression only grew more cocky. "My, my, already becoming that suggestive, are we?"
Face burning at his nonchalant words, you whipped around to face him, which you were avoiding before. Pouting, you glared up at him accusingly. "You know that's not what I meant!!"
"Maybe I do, maybe I don't. Now then, if you've calmed down enough, let's get ready for bed, shall we? I would cook dinner... but you know how that'd go..."
Still mildly seething, you managed to recall the last time Rui tried to bake something, instantly shuddering at the thought. "Let's not relive that."
Rui silently agreed, which was almost funny, since the two of you had hardly agreed on anything the past few days. The two of you bustled about the house, opening cabinets and grabbing fluffy blankets and snacks. As you wrestled the sleeping bag out of the case, you spotted Rui smuggling more than a few packs of grape soda candy along with the collected snack pile, but you decided to keep silent.
The two of you were nice and comfy, Rui being on the floor and you laying on his bed at his insistence. You had wrapped yourself up in several warm blankets and Rui merely had one draped over his shoulders. As the rain outside ceaselessly pelted down from the sky, Rui glanced up at you expectantly.
"Hey." His voice was soft, so much so you almost didn't catch it.
"Hm?" Rolling around, you peeked down at him. "Need something?"
"You were with Toya yesterday. Toya Aoyagi." Rui's tone was still gentle, but not so much as before. "Why?"
Blinking, you replied with an air of confusion. "Ah... because he's my friend?" Not really understanding his question, you settled back and waited until Rui found the words to elaborate more.
"Friend... just a friend?" His question is short, but it took you aback.
"Well, yeah..." Still startled, you rambled on. "I have lots of friends, you know. Not just him. There's Akito and Tsukasa and Mizuki and Haruka... I could name a lot." You let out a quiet, airy laugh. "Why do you ask?"
Rui smiled, an expression without any malice or suspicious motives. Instead, he just seemed... sad. His daffodil colored eyes were pained as he stared up at you, whispering, "Am I just a friend to you too?"
"...What?"
"A friend. You said you had a lot of friends. Am I one of them?"
"Of course-" You cut yourself off as you saw Rui's resting figure slump. "But..." Still struggling to find the right words, you patted the pillow beside you. "Here. Lay here first, and then I'll explain."
Rui didn't hesitate, but he didn't say a word to you either. Slowly, he got up, blanket trailing behind him, and eased his way onto the mattress. Filling the space to your right, he trained his eyes on you. "I'm waiting."
Nodding, you tried to swallow the fear bubbling about and stopped your hands from wavering. "Rui... the question you asked... it's actually something I think about a lot too. S-Sometimes... I feel like we're just friends - y'know - during play rehearsals or lunch break. But other times..." Your voice trailed off, tone shaky. "Other times, when it's just the two of us, I can feel myself blush and I can hear my heart pound. I'm not an idiot, Rui. I-I know what this means... and I've been putting off saying this for a long time. Longer than I should've. And for that, I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I hurt you." You couldn't trust yourself to say anymore, afraid of saying something you shouldn't, afraid of saying something that would ruin, well, everything.
Rui stayed silent for a long time. So long that you were beginning to fear that he had fallen asleep, and right when you were about to call out his name, he spoke.
"Is that how you feel? Is that your answer?" In the dark of the room, you couldn't make out anything more than the movement of his lips.
"Yes."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"Then you'll let me do this, won't you?"
And just like that, the rain stopped. Moonlight streamed through the windows, illuminating the room with a glow. On rhythm, Rui turned to you, eyes shimmering. He pulled you close, so tightly you could hardly breathe, and stole your breath away as his lips met yours. Everything is warm - too hot. Rui doesn't seem to notice, nor does he seem to care, and you might as well not care either as the purple-haired male cups your cheeks and brings your head to meet his. Warmth surges through your body as your heartbeat echoes in your ears. It's fast, almost unbelievably so, but it's easy to forget it when Rui is right in front of you. His golden eyes gleam as he closes the space between the two of you again, and this time, you can feel a smile gracing his lips. And in your ear, you can barely hear him whisper three words:
For the event, could I please request Rui with prompt 6?
'' so if this is how it feels , tell me if our love is real ,,
''wait, don't go, please..." - rui kamishiro
a/n : first event request, thank you! i'm honored to write a fic for you, because you were one of the authors that gave me motivation to write again after god knows how long. well anyway, onto the fic! hopefully, this was done justice.
after the curtains closed, most of the audience left after watching wonderlands x showtime's last show for the night. you loitered to walk home back home with rui.
"oya? if it isn't y/n."
you could hear his chesire-like grin, turning around to see rui.
"rui, that show was magnificent; great job again."
"heh, thank you." rui chuckled. "to be honest, we went through an issue backstage."
"again? last time, emu got a nosebleed due to one of the props. thankfully i was there and it wasn't her turn on stage yet." you recollected, taking a sigh. "what happened this time?"
the curve of rui's lips drooped, "tsukasa almost got knocked out, again." rui sat down on the bench behind him, clasping his hands and putting his elbows on his knees. "...it's because of me."
you couldn't help but pity rui. you looked at his averted golden eyes that held guilt. you knew that this had happened previously.
"...rui, it's not your fault. we make mistakes."
"but, we can't afford to make mistakes anymore."
"you have a point."
it seemed pointless. you really didn't want to pick a fight with rui, but you thought that he didn't have to blame himself for it. the more this goes on, the more he decides to keep his creative ideas of his inside, worsening the product of the shows.
"i'll be honest with you," you announce out the blue, getting rui's attention. "don't push yourself back due to minor setbacks. that's what's going to fail the next upcoming shows."
"y/n, you don't understand," rui got up from the bench, narrowing his eyes. "if i execute my dangerous ideas, the troupe will only get further injured-"
"rui." you cut him off, with a stern tone. "this is stupid for us to start fighting over. so, i'll leave for now. we can talk tomorrow." you turn around, feeling bitter about your decision. however, it was for the best.
all of a sudden, someone's hand grabbed your wrist almost instinctively. you turn your head immediately, focusing on rui.
"wait, don't go, please..." rui muttered quietly, his eyebrows creased. "...let's talk a little longer. the sun hasn't set yet."
meeting his golden eyes, you helplessly smiled, nodding your head. "mm, let's."
afterwards, you convinced rui to do what he loves most-- which is creating eccentric ideas thanks to his imagination. anybody should be allowed to do what they want, as long as they like what they're doing.
"thank you, y/n." rui smiled, holding your hand.
"thank you first. my actions earlier were short-tempered." you laughed sheepishly, a bit embarassed. you couldn't lie, you couldn't understand why you did that in the first place.

"Ah! Sorry Nene, I kind of zoned out.. What were you saying again?"
"I wanted to ask if you'll like to do this again sometime? I can see you're already tired from today so we can start heading home together?"
"Sure thing! If it is you I don't mind hanging out again hehe"
You exclaimed, though you could've sworn you saw Nene's cheek turn a little pink.
You guys then picked up your bags and valuables before exiting the arcade and started heading towards the bus stops. Though, the journey to the bus stops was a little difficult as you were starting to feel fatigue from the lack of sleep and the loud music at the arcade.
"W-woah [name]! Are you alright? You look really unstable.."
Nene asked, as she grabbed your arm to help you stabilize your body from falling.
"Ah.. I might have gotten a lot lesser sleep than I would have imagined.."
"[Name]?! Why did you sleep so late?! Nevermind that.. There's a bench nearby. You should probably get a nap in before we continue. It's only 5pm.."
As Nene helped you to the nearest bench so the both of you could sit down and take a rest.
After a few minutes went by, you still haven't shut your eyes to rest at all.
"[Name]..? What's the matter?"
"Errr... I am a bit nervous napping in a public space."
"Don't worry about it [name]. I'll be here till you wake up or if you need me.."
"Still thoug-"
"Here, I'll hold your hand until you fall asleep... If that will make you feel any better-"
Nene quickly swallowed her words, feeling like she said too much.
"What are you doing Nene?! [Name] is going to find me weird now.."
Nene was mentally hitting herself on the head. Why did she say that?! That was a creepy thing to say, what if you didn't like her or want to hang out with her anymore?
Suddenly all her worries were washed away when she felt the warmth of your hand interlocking with hers and a gentle weight on her shoulders.
Maybe this date went well afterall..

“did we just kiss?”
after letting go of you to let out an exhale of relief, that the first kiss went out well, he choked on his breath courtesy of the aftermath of the kiss. he was glad your first kiss with him was loving and quick, but he’s trying to grow accustomed to it since he’s never this intimate with someone before. all in all, although he’s a little embarrassed he had a weird reaction after, he did enjoy his first ever kiss with you.
“can i get another one?”
she loves the feeling so much so it isn’t surprising she’ll ask for another. it doesn’t even have to be on the lips it could be the cheek, hands, it doesn’t matter. anytime and anywhere she’ll always ask you for a kiss. she just adores the feeling of being embraced by you and vice versa.
“you did wonderful. can’t wait to do it again.”
he’d be the type to say such blissful nothings over the little things you do, even with kissing. and yes he can’t wait to do this again with you, he loves to see the little blush you have on your face. anything to see that smile on your face. however, be prepared to be peppered with kisses out of the blue from him from time to time. it’ll be a habit he’ll do towards you and only you.
“that was pretty nice.”
pretty dry but she’s honest. she was bashful when you asked to kiss her, and even though on the outside it looks like she’s hesitant of the idea, deep down she wanted to try it with you. so when you did do it, her eyes widened, but her gaze softened afterwards. letting go of everything to melt in your shared kiss.
