Raising Paladins Headcanons
Some lovely headcanons for if Lance develops a not so subtle crush on Pidge. @rueitae asked for it and you can quiznaking believe I’ll deliver. It’ll cover the main family she knows and loves, even Sendak. So! Without further ado!
Matt
Supportive all the way
He knows Lance and though a goofball, he knows Lance would be good
He would give the usual “if you hurt her I will hurt you, that’s a promise and not a threat” talk
He may tease Lance constantly about it, but he means well
“Don’t worry, buddy, I’ll find out if she likes you, too.”
Drek
“Wait, what? You like her!? As in… like that?!”
Extremely protective over Pidge; they’re like siblings
Will try to block Pidge from Lance’s view
Pupils shrink in agitation when he sees them interact more closely than they should as paladins (as in sitting close to play video games or Lance knitting Pidge a scarf and putting it on her; it’s innocent but he doesn’t care)
May get aggressive at times but won’t actually threaten or hurt Lance
He vents to Kullo and is afraid that Pidge will leave them for a possible boyfriend
“I can see what’s happening and they don’t have a clue, they’ll fall in love and here’s the bottom line, our trio’s down to two.”
Kullo
Doesn’t know if this is a fleeting crush or serious
Will tell Lance a few things about Pidge that she likes to help him bond with her more
Thinks Lance is a nice guy
May give tips on how some Galra court each other
Will teach Lance a few affectionate terms and phrases in the Galran language
Haxus
Talks cries to Kolivan about this
“She’s fifteen! I know even Galrans have little loves like that at that age, even younger, but she’s my baby girl!”
Asks the others about Lance to determine if he is the right guy for Pidge
Talks to Pidge to make sure she doesn’t jump right in and marry the first guy (Lance) who asks her on a date
Also teaches Pidge how to handle a guy and reminds her to hit him if anything goes wrong
Is not afraid to give Lance “the shovel talk”
Will watch Lance closely to make sure he’s not up to something
Sendak
Does not approve of Lance or anyone for that matter
“You want to date my daughter, then you must fight me for her honor! Victory or death!”
Very protective of Pidge
Openly threatens promises harm upon Lance, especially if he does anything wrong
He’s got one good eye and you can bet he’ll keep it on Lance
“I don’t know how to program, but I will learn and I will program a sentry to keep you away if I must.”
If Pidge one day decides she really likes Lance and wants to date him and asks Sendak not to be mean, he will be putty in her hands and treat Lance like a member of the family
This would terrify Lance and make him wary and worried that Sendak kill him at any given moment
But wait. We’re missing the most important part about these headcanons.
How would Pidge react?
So…
Pidge
“Um… what? Like me? I mean we’re friends but...”
Is confused and not sure how to handle things
Probably asks Coran or Allura for advice because they would be more impartial on the subject
If Pidge likes him, she would try to tell Lance in the Galran way
She would probably be nervous and flustered, not sure if she was doing things right or not
She may run away and hide in a pile of stuffed toys
If Pidge doesn’t like him, she won’t make it awkward but she’ll also try not to make it painful on Lance
she would continue being his friend and work well alongside him as paladins
Well, I hope you guys enjoyed these headcanons.
Keep in mind, we don’t know what will come of this AU and if crushes and ships will happen or not, but it’s sometimes fun to go over these little things. So! Thank you, Rue, for wanting these, it was fun to work on. And I hope everyone else liked them.
Plance Headcanon #3
This one includes mah boi James again. Some people have to go to a workshop to get some more supplies to repair a building and the MFE + Voltron team are deciding on who to send over.
Rizavi: We’ll send James and Pidge over to the workshop to get the supplies with the green lion and-
Lance: Wait wait wait! Why does it have to be James that goes with Pidge?
Shiro: Because he knows this place much better than we do. Especially since we’ve been in space for a few years.
James: Alright! Team Jidge is on the move! *puts an arm around Pidge*
Lance: No no no no, absolutely not happening *gets in between them to break them apart, then puts his own arm around Pidge* I’m going too.
Pidge, blushing: You can come too, Lance. We’ll need more room for stuff in case it doesn’t all fit in the green lion. Let’s get going then! *walks off*
Lance, grinning like an idiot: Alright! Team Plance is a go! *follows Pidge happily*
James: *follows as well, sulking slightly* I’m here too, guys.
@hushman made some really great headcanons for my Altean Bodyguard Plance AU, and @rueitae wrote a short fic based on those headcanons, and it was so awesome, I just had to draw a scene from it!! XD

Plance Headcanons Part 3

They both love musicals
Pidge likes to sit on countertops
Lance likes this too because it makes her so much easier to kiss
Pidge once dumped an entire box of altoids in her mouth to prove a point
She instantly regretted this decision but will never admit it
Pidge took 5 years of piano lessons
She doesn't remember a lot of the songs she used to know but she can read music
Lance cannot read music but he taught himself how to play guitar and is incredibly good at it
Lance whistles all the time
Pidge cannot whistle at least not well, but she likes it when Lance whistles
Lance likes black coffee and dry wines
Pidge cannot drink either of those two things
Her coffee must have almost a 1:1 ratio of cream/sugar to coffee
She doesn't care for alcohol that much but if she was going to drink, it would have to be sweet
Lance likes olives
Pidge thinks that's gross
But Pidge likes black licorice
Which Lance says invalidates her opinion on any foods ever
Pidge is afraid of spiders
She doesn't really like any bugs but she really can't stand spiders.
But she also can't kill them because she's afraid they will jump on her
So usually she just traps it under something with a note to Lance to kill it
Lance is terrified of snakes--and a little bit of reptiles in general, having grown up in Florida
Thankfully neither of them have to deal with either of their fears very much living in space
Lance grew up near Disney World and has probably been a dozen times
Pidge has never been to Disney World
They had planned to go once, but her Nonna had passed away and they had to cancel the trip. Then her dad went into space and she never got another opportunity
They definitely go to Disney World after defeating the Galra empire
More Domestic Plance HCs
They’ve 100% blindly smacked each other in the face trying to turn off the alarm clock
Pidge couldn’t find the trash floofs anywhere for a week until Lance came into their room like, “babe, twelve baby fluff balls are asleep in the linen closet right now...”
Lance’s neices and nephews love Pidge because she answers all of their questions. ALL of them.
They have a chicken coop in the backyard that Pidge refuses to go near.
“Lance, if you want a bunch of crazy birds then you take care of them.”
They turn doing chores into a competition so stuff gets done on time.
Shiro, Curtis, and baby Melenor come to their house for dinner at least twice a month. (Hunk’s there too, because he doesn’t trust Lance OR Pidge anywhere near a stove.)
Lance comes up with weirder and weirder ideas for video games and Pidge takes it as a challenge to create them.
She routinely forgets to bring lunch to work so Lance often visits her with food in tow
Too. Many. Video. Game. All-nighters.
Lance gets alarmingly passive aggressive when he’s mad so Pidge physically plants herself in front of him and won’t move until he breaks and fesses up.
They bond through playful bickering and a lot of people think they’re legit fighting all the time.
Hunk gave them a custom trophy that says “World’s Most Sarcastic Couple”
They love the trophy. It’s on display in the living room.
I feel like Pidge would be 100% Mama Bear
Like, maybe she worries she won’t have that instant connection with her baby. And when he’s born she’s not exactly sure what the hell she’s feeling except overwhelmed, because “fuck, a human being just came out of me and everything feels weird.”
So she’s holding the baby, totally out of it, but when a nurse tries to take him for whatever reason they’re just met with a glaring, growling Pidge hunched over her cub. She just gets this feeling like My. Baby. Back off.
Pidge trusts no one with her tiny flesh robot. Only her husband. For the first three months of his life the Plance child is only ever held by his mother and father.
(I might be a bit delirious rn)
Domestic Plance HCs
Lance keeps an impeccable garden of native plants.
He buys Pidge a collection of big floppy hats to protect her from the sun.
Pidge makes Lance blueberry pancakes when he’s had a bad day.
They have a stack of recipe books, all with titles to the effect of “Cooking for Dummies”
Most mornings they wake up with a trash floof trilling in their faces. It’s not unlike having three flying cats.
Pidge got pregnant within a couple months of them trying. Lance definitely made a sharpshooter joke.
By then Lance had six nieces and nephews and he thanked God for making him the youngest sibling so he could get in all that baby practice.
Matt was thrilled when he found out he’d be an uncle.
Keith just kind of went silent at the idea of a human being growing inside his friend.
Lance and Pidge simultaneously fainted when the doctor told them she was carrying twins.
Later Pidge was like, “At least my pregnancy will probably be shorter.”
