it is time...
plant bebs 🌿🌻
I love this quote because it changed my perspective on my plant hobby. One of the things I have always loved so much about caring for my plants is that it's a time where I can experience flow (being "in the zone.") Getting to have that time is so cathartic and leaves me feeling happier and recharged. Before this quote though, I never realized how optimistic of a hobby plants are. At times I struggle with catastrophizing, and until I read this quote I never realized that my plant hobby was a direct challenge to this catastrophizing; caring for a long-term "project" despite a deep fear that something tragic and awful is just around the corner and that the things I enjoy about my life will vanish; caring for plants and planning for "tomorrows" despite the fear that those tomorrows won't be there. This fear is largely unfounded and so, as an act of defiance (and probably self-care,) I've started seeking out activities that get me planning for an optimistic future because I don't want to operate from a place of fear. Anyways, I hope you each have a terrific Thursday, enjoy the quote, and that you find time to relish the things that make you happy ☀️
