Excuse me, I need to go be disgustingly affectionate at my boyfriend.

That scream had Vlad rushing to the bedrooms, immediately worried for both of his children. After all the shit that had been happening with Charlie lately, though… Well, it was natural to check there first, right?
“Charlie? Charlie it’s Vlad. Can I come in?” He knocked at the door, hoping that he was wrong and that they would either cuss him out for waking them up or at least tell him in some way that they were okay.
Who was Vlad and why did he know their name?!
That definitely sounded like a grown-up though, and Charlie was always taught to listen to grown ups and be respectful. It took them a moment, but eventually Charlie squirmed out from under the bed and over to the door. Slowly, the door to the room cracked open just enough for them to peek through and up at whoever was on the other side. They didn’t recognize him at all though, was he the one who brought them here? “....Hi.”
Chasing the rat (3/3)
This wasn’t good. Not good At All.
Capture. Programming.
That bastard had his eye on Charlie, and tighter than Daniel had imagined. This was serious, and definitely family meeting worthy... They were both definitely going to need Papa’s help on this.
But first...
Daniel kicked the guy’s legs one more time, making him whimper in pain because of his fractured leg. He made sure not to hit too hard so it wouldn’t start spurting blood.
At least there wasn’t anyone else involved still in the staff, so he could let everyone else out with a deep, sincere apology. They knew how to take care of making sure this didn’t get out more than getting him some medical care with a cover story.
...He was going to take a long, hot bath now. With that Hellfury bath bomb too. There hadn’t been no blood involved after all.
Chasing the rat (2/?)
He had narrowed it down, and was working on getting the fine details worked out of people when Daniel’s cell phone started going off.
Glaring at it and shoving the knife deeper into wood millimeters from his victim interviewee’s skin, he at least didn’t have to wipe his hands before swiping open his phone.
“Hello? Oh hey. Nah, wasn’t expecting you to be calling. It’s fine, I’m not that busy. Just taking care of that thing from last night. Yeah, I don’t like it either, but apparently it’s worse than I thought. Ugh, right? I really don’t want to have to clean up if someone gets stubborn. I know you like it, but blood gets sticky really fast. Hm... Yeah, it should be over soon. Oh, what? I’ll try to be finished soon then, but they can handle themselves. Probably. ‘Kay, love you. Bye.”
Daniel sighed fondly. He always liked talking to Phanos. Glancing at the chair in the center of the room, it was obvious that the person sitting in it was feeling sick to their stomach with disgust.
“Honestly, I’m not sure how you got through at all. But you’re going to tell me that, aren’t you?”
He had to wipe his face clean, and plucked the knife out of the chair.
“Fine. We can start with your lips than. Let’s see... Matching or sewn? I want something that you can pass the word onto with. Eventually, anyway...”
Chasing the rat (1/?)
He didn’t like making everyone on the staff be reminded that he is Plasmius’ son. It was bad for business, and it took a while to earn back the trust levels between them all, but if there was a rat... It was worth it.
The first few people he ‘interviewed’/threatened with a sharp knife were a pretty good mix. There was fear, probably for themselves, worry, dread, anger, and that tang of being hard on themselves that made Daniel sick when it came from Charlie or Vlad.
Most importantly, however, when Daniel asked if they had any electrical experience within the house, there was surprise, but the worry never got any higher.
Alright. Baseline established. Time for the real challenge.

When Daniel made his way downstairs for some juice, he was in probably the most disheveled state most of the staff had seen him in, and half of them had seen him naked. His hair was still damp from a shower, no gel, and he was basically in his pajamas with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders.
Dinner was almost done, so there were only a handful of people still left in the kitchen for Daniel to wave to as he passed by to get to the fridge and the pineapple juice. He hardly noticed anyone else in the room until he looked over to the counter with stools by it (for when going to the dining room was way too much effort for just a bowl of cereal).
“Hey.”
Ff+Charlie (whichever verse)
Clockwork is minding his own business, when the sudden urge to do a spit-take of his morning tea overcomes him. He doesn’t manage to resist it, but he does freeze time quickly enough that he manages to clean all the spray from the air before it can hit Daniel. He excuses himself as politely as he can, and goes to make some Arrangements.
Honestly, even a scummy tabloid should know better than to run that story. Nobody needs the sex-filled and utterly fabricated tale of how Mr. Master’s illegitimate child seduced their new step-parent. Literally nobody.
Clockwork’s just going to make sure that the story never sees even the faintest light of day.

Neither of their ghost senses responded to each-other anymore, so the only warning Vlad got was the sound of whimpering and the pat-pat-pat of feet on the kitchen tile before a sudden weight hit his leg and wrapped around it.
“Papa, ’M stuck ‘gain!” Charlotte’s small voice whined from the seemingly empty space at his feet, squeezing a little tighter around his leg. They still got stuck invisible sometimes, and when it was too hard to turn visible again, they went to their Papa. He could fix it!
