g'day! this is a blog for encouraging the donation of blood, plasma, and platelets. its mod is an australian plasma donor and aspiring phlebotomist (not officially associated with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood beyond being a donor(... yet?)) who uses they/it pronouns.

if you're ineligible to donate blood/plasma/platelets yourself, encouraging others to donate in your stead is awesome! you can still save lives!

Look, I may be mad at Rick after S9 ep 4, but yesterday was blood center day, so obviously, I ✨️had ✨️ to still bring Rick Bear along. Successful triple platelet donation, btw. 😊

Fear no Mort was on Monday night, so I went with the Fear Hole shirt instead of my usual go-to for blood center day, my Rick vs. Rick Prime shirt. Seemed appropriate, and I should periodically remind the internet that yes, I DO own a couple of RaM shirts besides my favorite one. 😅

Blood donors report feeling a sense of great satisfaction after making their blood donation. Why? Because helping others in need just feels

Americans -- we have a DANGEROUSLY LOW blood supply right now. If you are eligible, please make an appointment to donate whole blood, red blood cells, plasma, or platelets. If you've been deferred in the past, you may be eligible now. If you have questions about donating, please take a look at this First Time Blood Donors page.

If you are healthy and eligible, you can give the gift of life with minimal discomfort to yourself. In addition to that, you'll have people to dote on you for as long as you're donating, and you'll get snacks and juice. PLUS, if you don't already know your blood type, you'll learn that, and (at least at my donation site) you'll be tested for COVID antibodies.

Another triple platelet donation accomplished today!

Today is also 2 years since the finale of The Owl House, "Watching and Dreaming ", premiered, so my Lumity shirt was the obvious choice for the day. 😊

My platelets went far and wide! I wonder where the ones from Sunday’s donation will go. Still haven’t had a donation where they stayed in Alabama :/
