Headcanon Anon here! Love that you get so excited about them! How do you feel abou this one: Valkyrie was an energetic baby. Crying, wiggling, giggling, all the energy. Gordon babysat sometimes - and ( this is canon ) once Skulduggery met baby Val. The second he picked her up she got quiet and stared into his eyesockets. For 10 seconds she looks into his soul. Then starts wiggling again. That was when he knew she was going to be special to him. Gordon called it love at first sight :D

Yay! I love you! You have the best ideas! 

Awwwwwww. I have just sold my soul to the devil because this is the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life and oh my god. I love this with every inch of my being. 

Can you just imagine Gordon trying to babysit though? 

Especially an energetic Val 

He just 

Doesn’t know what he’s doing 

Don’t get me wrong, he loves children

Finds them absolutely adorable 

He just has no clue what to do with them 

So he makes Skulduggery come with him because 

Skulduggery! I don’t know what to do with kids! 

You had a kid. And you had Larrikin

You know what to do with them

So Skulduggery agrees 

Very reluctantly 

And Skulduggery has no clue what to do with this very wriggly baby 

Does he hold her? 

Does he ignore her? 

He has no clue 

So he tries to talk to her 

And she’s just babbling back 

And Skulduggery just feels his non-existant heart half-explode 

Because this baby is the most adorable thing ever? 

Sure, it makes him a bit sad 

Because this is what he should’ve had with his own child 

But between the War and their early death 

He didn’t get nearly enough time with them

Buuuuuut 

Back to Val and actual happiness 

(That’s me. Have to taint even the cutest things with sad stuff.) 

So, Gordon tells him to pick up baby Val so they can move some stuff around 

And Skulduggery does 

It takes way too long 

Because she. Will. Not. Sit. Still. 

But eventually he manages 

And she kinda just? 

Stops? 

She’s quiet and still and just staring right at his face with the biggest baby eyes 

And then she starts wriggling and babbling again 

A lot happier than before 

And Skulduggery is just? 

He completely adores this baby 

This is the feeling he got when he held his own child 

And so he knows 

That somehow 

This baby is going to be very important 

And Gordon finds this hilarious 

And tells him that they’re going to get on so well 

And that he wants Skulduggery to babysit her more 

And Skulduggery can’t help but agree
