Phew! While not as chaotic as the Round of 16, we still saw some frantic last minute stealing action in this round.
Please remember that said last minute stealing is all perfectly within the bounds of the rules. People are allowed to post steals at any point in the submission period, and saving up steals to post after the exit polls if your ship looks to be in trouble is a perfectly legitimate way of playing the game. We received an anon at the end of the round on this topic that is NOT in keeping with the spirit of the Shipping Showdown. You know who you are. If you're reading this, don't do that again. Thanks!

It may not have been enough to see you through to the semi finals (another pair of criminals foiled by Inspector Javert?), but considering you were a new entrant in this competition you should be very proud of all your votes, propaganda, and steals. Our first swing of the Quarter Finals - and of course it's Montparnasse doing some stealing. Very in character. Congrats to Jehanparnasse nation for pulling some excellent steals out of the bag over the past 48 hours. And farewell to Eposette, a beloved ship and (up till now) our highest remaining seed in the competition. The Giant Killing theme of the 2026 Shipping Showdown continues...

There's always one match up this round where I have to quadruple check my maths, and this was that battle for the Quarter Finals. Bahorel/Feuilly (I hear you're calling yourselves Riot World now?) nation put up a tremendous fight over the past 48 hours, and we received some very high scoring steals! But in the end Team Gyriel held strong with some last minute submissions of their own, and the two sides, as in our exit poll, pretty much matched each other steal for steal!

Okay I know I already made the Jonas Brothers "oh how the tables have turned" joke in the Exit Poll but I'm going to make it again here because this is FRYING ME. What a fickle bunch you are (affectionate). Enjolras/Marius absolutely wiped the floor with Enjoltaire last round, and this round they received a whopping two (2) steals and got completely obliterated by our late Easter miracle resurrected ship Fanplice. Absolutely hilarious. Marjolras, you'll be forever remembered for randomly destroying the most popular ship in Les Mis fandom history, and for introducing Labubus as a running gag in this tournament. Hospital Wives... well, I can't wait to see what's going to happen when you go up against Gyriel in the Semi-Finals. This is going to be the greatest Church-based battle since the other week at my organist job when I watched a guy have a go at another member of the congregation for sitting in his favourite pew at Mass.
All counts are correct to our knowledge. HOWEVER: If you are genuinely for real in doubt that your steal has not been counted AND that this will affect the results of a given poll, then please take the following steps before 5PM BST (UTC+1) TOMORROW.
Check the notes for a like from one of our mods (@lonelyroommp3 or @glindalesbian). If at least one of us has liked your steal it HAS been counted and queued, even if it’s not shown up on this blog yet.
Check that you do not have either mod blocked. If you really hate our vibes you’re welcome to reblock us after the tournament has ended, but sadly as this is a sideblog we cannot see anything you post or send to us if you’ve blocked our mains.
Send us an ask directing us to the steal in question and we can confirm for you whether or not it’s been counted!
Please note we will only accept asks about steals you personally submitted. We will not entertain third party enquiries about whether you feel another fan's steal is eligible/has been scored correctly unless you have concrete evidence that they have broken one of our rules. Making speculative accusations about whether you feel another user's work is good enough to be counted is mean, underhanded, and against the spirit of the showdown. Do not do it.
