Im thinking of applying for standalonerp and im super nervous could you give me any tips for applying as veronica? Thank you in advance!

please note that i’ve only watched the show and i haven’t read the comics, nor do i have any real knowledge of them at all so what i am saying is based off of the show. because that is where my confidence in veronica’s character lies. since i really feel like veronica is a very complex character, lemme fill you in. and i really hope this helps!!

she has not forgotten her old ways -- veronica had it all, she was queen b and maybe even the worst person that you’d ever had the displeasure of meeting before everything fell through in her life. although she is actively seeking to improve herself and make up for all the horrible things that she has done, on occasion she goes back to where she started. for example, pulling stunts like what she did to chuck with betty, acting out on her mother to get her own way etc. however, it needs to be noted that whilst falling back into what she was before, she’s doing it with the best intentions. with the chuck thing, she did it for justice and acting out on her mother was because she did not agree with what was happening between hermione and fred. she doesn’t lash out because she wants to be that bitch again, she does it because she knows how to and sometimes it’s the best option.

she sees the best in people -- aka people like her father and even cheryl. she really does believe that there is good in them despite the evidence laid out in front of her. this can also make her come across as naive. she could have easily chosen to stay away from betty after the seven minutes in heaven incident but she didn’t. the first thing she does is she tries to fix things. she could have easily still dehumanized cheryl like everyone else, but she was there the night before jason’s memorial and chose to comfort her.

she has the best intentions -- everything she does, it’s because she feels like it’s right. all veronica wants to do is make emends by being a better person. she may make rash decisions (for example, seven minutes in heaven) but she makes those decisions because without them, sometimes the outcome is worse.

she is not looking for popularity -- one thing i feel like people may get wrong about veronica is that coming from her old school, having all these nice things etc. that she may still want to climb the ladder for popularity. but if those were her intentions, she would have picked cheryl’s crowd instead. she is very aware that she was already that person and will do anything to avoid being seen that way again -- i feel like she may despise the idea now.

change of lifestyle? nah -- since coming to riverdale her life has changed, but veronica took it in her stride. she could have chose to turn her nose up at so many things but learnt to embrace it. and just because things are different and money is a struggle without her father around, she still finds a way to be generous with other people (eg. with ethel and giving her things away, with betty and spending money when needed for her apology)
