Choices Spread Kindness Celebration

Welcome to the fifth annual Choices Spread Kindness Celebration! This event begins on Social Media Kindness Day (November 9) and "ends" on World Kindness Day (November 13). But, just like in past years, there will be a bonus day (November 14) for you to celebrate you!

The goal of the event is simple: spread kindness in the fandom, but this year I want it to go further, our fandom is getting smaller day by day. Every single person in this fandom is important and matters. I hope that we can turn out this year to embrace who is still here and celebrate all our fandom still has. You matter and I hope you will encourage others.

Without you, this event can't be all that it can be, but with you, with just a little participation each day, we can bring encouragement, support, and joy to our little corner of tumblr.

No one asked for anything to be added, removed, or changed so the days are similar to the past years.

This can be for anyone: readers, supporters, creators, event hosts, ….anyone in the fandom in any capacity! Let people know they're important to you and make a difference to your time here in the fandom. Everyone deserves to feel a little special and appreciated now and then, especially on Social Media Kindness Day!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Give them a shoutout here, @choicesfandomappreciation!

Fill their inbox with love and encouragement

Send anon messages of support

Gift them edits, moodboards, drabbles, or anything small that they enjoy to bring a smile to their face

*Just a special note to remember your readers/supporters, make sure to send them love too!

November 10: Writer’s Love Day Some ideas to show your favorite writers some love:

Reblog your favorite stories they’ve written

Ask questions about their MCs/OCs

November 11: Artist’s Love Day Some ideas to show your favorite artists some love:

Challenge: Choose 2 artists who are actively creating and find 2 artists who have been quiet that could use some encouragement

November 12: Creator Love Day

This is a day for any other content creators: editors, moodboard makers, songwriters, playlist creators, headcanon creators, etc (anyone who does not fall under the writer or artist days that creates for the fandom, even if just for MC / OC challenges/games)

Some ideas to show them love:

Reblog your favorite content they’ve created

If they have a master list share it

Send love to their inbox

Ask them questions about their characters

Give them a shoutout here

Challenge: Choose 2 creators who are actively creating and find 2 creators who have been quiet that could use some encouragement

November 13: Fandom Love Day (Secret Admirer Day)

This is sort of like secret Santa but just for kind messages. You do not need to create, buy, or gift anyone anything. This is open to anyone in the fandom (creator, reader, supporter, anyone!)

All that is required is that you write the person you’ve been assigned a kind, encouraging, supportive message for November 13th. It can be generic, but I do encourage you to take a few minutes to look over the person's blog and see if you can give them a compliment specific to them that might be more meaningful.

To participate, message me here (@choicesfandomappreciation) or @lovealexhunt and let me know you want to join by November 4th. *If there is someone you absolutely cannot be paired with please let me know that too, no judgement and it will be kept private.

On November 5th, I will randomize everyone who is interested in participating and send you one person’s name. On November 13th, send your message to this blog anonymously (@choicesfandomappreciation ).

I will tag your person so they see your message.

Feel free to reblog others’ messages of support and appreciation and add on to the thread.

November 14: Self Love Day (Bonus Day) Some ideas to show yourself some love:

Hello, I need some advice and motivation. I want to write and create for my favorite Choices couple again because I miss them, and I haven't written or created anything for them in months. So what motivates you all to create something about them as our lovely fandom gets smaller and smaller? Seeing the fandom as small and inactive is sad. I wish I had joined Tumblr fandom sooner when it was much more active in 2019 (but I was too young). I also want to apologize to the fandom for being less socially active this year, since life has been busy, and because of the lack of motivation. So many dear fandom friends left which is sad. It's so silent here. And I want to write and create again for my characters.

Hey there, hon—first, I want to say that I so understand. It's hard to find motivation when our fandom has dwindled to literally a handful of people. A handful of people who, like me, are not even on as often as we used to be.

Just today, I was thinking about how much I miss my beloved, Tobias x Casey, but here's the thing—I still write for them often. I've never stopped, I just don't post often. It's one thing to write for me, and another to edit/polish to post. It doesn't feel like it's worth the effort when no one is really interested.

That said, I'll probably continue writing for them indefinitely - because I adore them- and they need exactly one fan to make it worth my while - and that fan is me. You need to do the same for you! It's about your creativity, your happiness—so I say, continue to write for them—and when something is really special, cultivate that one piece to share.

Most of the things I have posted in recent months have been prompts from events—short and sweet. There's a good one coming up in November (the drabble collective). @dr-colossal-pita and I were saying we should try that—it's 100 words a day. I mean, it's my busiest time of year at work, but I think I can even do that. Maybe we should try to get those of us —the last holdouts from the Choices fandom —to all participate? What do you say?

am I the only one that keep wondering if Playchoices is using AI? I keep looking at the art for The Deadliest Game and getting that uncanny valley feeling. also opened the app for a first time in a while and am honestly so disappointed in their story selection now. i’ve started replaying It Lives In The Woods and Blades of Light and Shadow just to feel something. I think Choices doesn’t realize that a lot of their audience wants stories with actual depth to them. like they can still be fun and sexy and have good writing? *points to the Nanny series* like the stories themselves used to be enjoyable even if I didn’t have the diamonds to purchase any extra interactions and that’s not the case anymore. they need to return to their Endless Summer and their Freshman series energies. like those were always SO fun to read. idk, it’s just unfortunate. I also saw that they laid off a ton of people so it makes sense that their quality is diminishing. it’s just unfortunate to see after they made some genuinely incredible stories and characters.

and like if they only want to be sexy with bad writing that’s their choice but I just think they need to start hiring fanfic writers bc they know how to make a story sexy AND have the most riveting plotline you’ve ever experienced
