Daphne, the damsel in distress

Velma, the nerd

Shaggy, the funny one

Fred - Nik

Shaggy - Cal

Vera and Katherine are bit more complicated. On the one hand Vera could be a nerd like Velma but her fashion makes me think of Daphne. I also don't see either as being damsels in distress.
