Happy Pride Month! Character Edition! Part 6
If you saw last year, I made a three-parter on ships and such. This year, there will be a focus on characters with a new post about new ships!
So, this sixth part will be a focus on both Canon and Headcanon as those on the Aromantic Asexual Spectrum, and as a Homoromantic Demisexual, this one is the most vibe based! Check my blog under the Pride Month tag to see prior posts.
First up...
Lilith Clawthorne from The Owl House! The first time I really experienced knowing a character was AroAce! She's such an icon, and my favorite autograph from when I met the cast was seeing a Lily print with books in the asexual pride colors.
A headcanon with Shoto Todoroki! Todoroki is somewhere on the asexual spectrum to me. I really did ship him in the early years, but currently I think I like him as aroace as well.
Ash Ketchum from Pokémon! I know I ship him with Misty and occasionally Goh, so I don't think he's aromantic (I personally lean toward demiromantic), but he's definitely asexual.
Red from Pokémon! I did say I was going to mention him! Similar to his anime counterpart (Ash), I imagine he's somewhere on the aroace spectrum. But with him, I see him as more demisexual.
Tobio Kageyama from Haikyuu! I see him as homoromantic (romantically attracted to men) and demisexual as well! He gets the special badge of sharing the same sexuality as me (except I'm only romantically attracted to women) cause he's my favorite in Haikyuu.
A canon character on the aroace spectrum is Peridot from Steven Universe! This was such a cool thing to find out, and the metaphor with fusion. Also, her obsession with romantic shows felt so real.
In Rosie's words, "an ace in the hole". Alastor from Hazbin Hotel is canonically asexual, and honestly, I hope we see more of this part of him in any way we can.
I see Wednesday Addams as demisexual. I don't really have an explanation outside of vibes. I feel like because she doesn't emote or have emotional attachment to many things in a positive light, this also includes her sexuality.
Rei Suwa from Buddy Daddies! Another character I personally see as homoromantic demisexual because he's my favorite. I feel like with him, it's literally Kazuki or no one because no bond will be deeper than that.
Noe Archiviste from Case Study of Vanitas! He's somewhere on the ace spectrum, but he is romantically attracted to everyone to some degree. Personally, I think demiromantic.
Alix Kubel from Miraculous! Who, I believe, in an interview, was confirmed to be on the aro spectrum! I would say, hope to see more of her, but she's kinda running a whole timeline.
But can't mention Alix without mentioning Max Kante! Unlike Alix, he was described as being on the ace spectrum. Which, honestly, I will take whatever rep we can!
Pure Vanilla Cookie! He just gives me panromantic demisexual; you really need to make an emotional connection. I only ship him with two people: White Lily and Shadow Milk. And both definitely reached that state of a deep emotional connection.
Natsu Dragneel from Fairy Tail! Again, I headcanon him as demisexual, mostly by vibes, because there are only TWO people I ship him with: his childhood rival, Gray Fullbuster, and the woman who stuck with him through thick and thin, whom he hangs onto like a clingy dragon in Lucy Heartfilia.
