officially starting amphoreus !!! had to pick up sunday first .!!
I wasn’t ready for him to look like this
Finally got this one Divergent Universe achievement. (It requires getting a really effective build fast, by end of chamber 9.)
After a dozen failed attempts I finally got basically the best possible combo setup I could ask for: Nether Longship (extra DoT procs on weakness broken enemies), the incredible Eidolon +1 cheese, several DoT 3★ blessings, and the Hunt 3★ for 100% action advance on kills.
And it worked! And I finished the run!
But it turns out HOYOVERSE HATES ME:
☹️
I guess I'll make do.
GUYS, I LOVE HOYO. THE MAN I STARTED THIS GOD DAMN GAME FOR-
I FINALLY FUCKING HAVE HIM.
"is now" but the screenshot is clearly about December...
I can't actually read what it says or confirm the contents, but it does kind of make sense. Why does Sparkle get a buff and an alt, even after Archer being a walking billboard for her? Because she's really popular. Why does Firefly get a broken support with an entire effect dedicated to just her AND a buff AND a paid skin? Because she's super, duper, crazy popular. Why does Kafka get a buff and all of DOT gets elevated up to a top team? Because she's popular, dovetailing nicely with Black Swan getting a popularity buff as well. Even explains the rumors of the Robin and Aventurine alts, and the Castorice skin for 3rd anni. It's because they're popular.
It would even explain the weird Acheron and Feixiao situations. Because Acheron sold really, really well. She's the anniversary unit from 2.x, not Firefly. So why is Acheron so screwed that she's a filler in the five star selector, while Firefly is T0 and still getting buffed more? Well, perhaps it's the popularity.
Hard to know how seriously to take this, but... it's kind of interesting to consider.
himeko im sorry but i wanna fuck your dad
Phainon fake magazine interview... (link)
Not just the magazine, but even more obvious here: We know from Cipher's lie that the sun went out 1000 years ago. Aedes Elysiae is described as a "frontier town" and no one has heard of it, so it shouldn't be close to Okhema. But that raises the question of why it's implied to be rather sunny. Fields of golden wheat? That doesn't sound like something that would exist in Evernight, but it doesn't make sense to be close to the Dawn Device either. Phainon's yellow color association even mentions the "Blazing Sun above" instead of the Dawn Device. SUS
Potentially related, two sussy little things: a "Statue" in the plaza with a capital S and a book, "Legend of the Dawn Hero." Sounds potentially plot relevant.
In the purple color association, Phainon specifically mentions "the fifteenth night after I left home." It was briefly brought up in 3.3 that Aglaea brought him to Okhema herself, so maybe the 15th night after he left the ruins of Aedes Elysiae is when she picked him up. It's also been repeatedly said now that he was a child when he was brought to Okhema and it sounds like the "harsh training" he went through was also in Okhema. (This is a bit different from previous impressions, where I kind of thought he wandered around fighting monsters for a while. The current timeline seems to be very compressed though, and it's likely the prophecy about him came down immediately after Aedes Elysiae was destroyed.) An interesting point might be that, if Aglaea found him 15 days after he left Aedes Elysiae, she's never seen the place herself.
For color associations, yellow is joy (wheat) and also responsibility (Kephale's golden blood, Aglaea's threads, the land, the sun), red is courage (Tribbie's hair, apples and pomegranates, guards' blood, the forge). Green is promise and hope (leaves that fall and sprout again, vines of Reason, textbook covers). Blue is time (the sky, dad's eyes). Purple is life (color of the dromas he rode away from Aedes Elysiae). White is something that lingers but leaves nothing behind... (Tribbie corrects that it is all other colors put together.)
Aglaea assigned him color association homework after the fifth time he showed up in purple and yellow, with red and green accessories. Apparently, this was him wearing all his favorite colors at once. He also apparently bought clothes for himself at Marmoreal Market after coming to Okhema.
His mom Audata had white hair and his dad Hieronymus had blue eyes. He only ever mentions mom and dad, so it seems he didn't have any siblings.
The town teacher was named Mrs. Pythias. He seems to generally really like and respect teachers (her, Anaxa, Tribbie, Aglaea in a sense).
The little pictures of Phainon newly arrived in Okhema... are surprisingly chipper? He's presumably putting on a brave front, but he really jumped to it. He doesn't remember anything from the journey over except the color of the dromas he rode, but afterwards... he started on not letting anyone see his weakness right away, huh?
His social media account is called "GreatestWorks" and has a very bad drawing of him as the icon. He uses it for "The Treasure Appraisal Show" and listening to it is supposed to improve... persuasion skills. (I recall that Mydei is better than him at history despite Phainon's interest in it...)
He liked treasure appraisal even as a kid. His dream was to go out and travel, become a great hero, then return home to help his town with everything he'd learned. He would run an appraisal shop by day, helping people identify their treasures, then guard the town by night. On the treasure map, he mentioned receiving some old coins and being unable to identify them.
