I saw a post saying Sandman Loki’s attitude towards his children is far more hostile than his mythological counterpart.

While I think the intention with this Loki was to portray him as a true agent of chaos, therefore any obligation, including children (because what greater obligation is there in life?) would be abhorrent to him.

But if you wanted to look at him with a slightly more sympathetic headcanon, you could argue:

1. He's straight up lying to Puck. As much as he protests too much of the opposite, he obviously cares for Puck in his way. This could either be Loki furthering his aim to discourage Puck from getting too attached to Daniel. As he knows there is no way in hell they can keep him. Or straight up discouraging Puck from wanting children with him, considering what happened to every single one of his other progeny. The fate of any offspring they had, in his mind, would be undoubtedly as bleak and heartbreaking.

2. Following on from that last point, he's lying to himself. The morbid destiny of his own children has led him to emotionally shut down on the matter, in an attempt to protect himself. What greater manipulation can one perform then on their own psyche after all? In trying to convince himself even the idea of offspring is loathsome, he's guarding himself from the same inescapable pain he's experienced again and again… And again.
