「it didn’t really sink in until we were well past the facility — that it was finally over.
“we did it,” you said, once the air had settled and a comfortable silence filled the car at last.
after nine years spent teetering on the edge between realities, wondering if we could actually pull it off once time caught up to you,
if we would even be lucky enough to be the versions of ourselves to reap the rewards,
you’re safe.
“yeah, we did it.”」

I was so obsessed with this prompt actually—I had this whole elaborate comic planned out before I’d even officially claimed it, but as it turns out, art is hard and takes a long time, so I ended up writing a little something with the general Idea I was going for as a supplement to a smaller piece instead.
Wait what is that about elvish being Dutch? I have been living under a rock because of exams but I do not think I could survive that. Hearing the strange German was already confusing enough XD.
Okay so Mica started off last night’s Narrative Telephone with a story in which she spoke for several sentences in Elvish. The other storytellers, being unable to recreate her elvish, did a very poor imitation of Dutch and called it Elvish. Hence Elvish = Dutch!
Sometimes Clover can’t remember the time where she and Light weren’t close. At this moment in time it just feels like a certainty. A simple fact of life. But if there is one thing she knows than it is that life is rarely simple, even though it used to feel that way.
At 6 year olds, Clover was a very energetic girl. Running around climbing on stuff and getting into trouble. As bright as the sun when she was smiling, but leaving a trail of destruction behind her when she was having a tantrum. Talking non-stop and befriending every person, child or adult, that she meat. Or almost every person. There was one person she couldn’t seem to get through. Her 5 year older brother Light. It wasn’t that they disliked each other, or that they often fought. Clover would have preferred it better if they did. No Light just didn’t seem to feel anyway whatsoever about her. He didn’t ignore her, didn’t yell at her, helped her with her homework if she asked. Even would play some games with her. But she just always felt that she was nothing more than a duty to him. A pet he needed to take care off because someone had to. Not a sister that he loved. She’d rather have he yelled at her, or laughed at her behind her back. But even more than that she just wanted him to ask her to do things together. To show her he wanted to have her around. That she was more to him than just the second child of his parents. It wouldn’t be long before she found out how wrong she was about her brother. They where walking home. A small girl and her tall older brother, a young boy, almost a teenager. Than a car. Driving fast. Heading their way. Than a brief second where the world seemed to stop. In that brief timeless moment where a boy sees the last thing he ever will: his sister’s frightened eyes and a raging car heading their way. A small girl seeing a car tries to clutch her brothers coat in fear. But he won’t let her. She’s small and he is not. She can do nothing as the car comes their way. And then a push and she’s out of the way, but her brother is not. And the girl realises she has been wrong. The young boy cares about her, he cares so much. She was just to blind to see.
Light is 11 when his world darkens. When he wakes and opens his eyes and sees nothing. He is young, but he is bright, it doesn’t take him long to realise what has happened. The Irony doesn’t escape him and for a brief moment he wants to laugh, but he wouldn’t be able to even if he wanted to. An oxygen mask on his mouth, and still he feels like he can’t breathe. His limbs feel heavy, and when he wants to reach out to the person he hears breathing to his left side, his arm doesn’t move. Still the person seemed to notice he has awoken as he can here a high pitched gasp and then the sound of violent sobbing. For the first time in his life the sound of his sister crying fills him with relief. It means that she’s safe, that she is here with him. And he closes his eyes again. Somewhere in the back if his brain he notes that he’s still blinking, even though there is no use to opening his eyes anymore, though it doesn’t take long for that thought to fade away, and for him to fall asleep again. It was more than logical that he would need some time to adjust. Light knew this and expected this. He realised he would need to learn a lot of things anew. He had of course lost his sight and one of his limbs. It wouldn’t do to be upset as it was only a waste of emotions that could be used in some more useful pursuits. Like learning braille, learning how to tie his shoes with one hand and no sight. He had counted on these difficulties and he wouldn’t let them phase him. When he got a new bruise on his shin after walking into the chair in his room, he made sure it didn’t bruise his ego as well. Why would he, he has always known that his best asset was his brain. Nothing could change that. So no he didn’t need help getting around the house, especially not from his little sister. He was supposed to help her, not the other way around. No thank you. He was fine on his own. Though well if he noticed the chair being moved back under the table after he passed, well he wouldn’t complain. Neither would he complain about the fact that someone has been labelling all the bottles in the fridge. He might not be able to except help loud and proud but accepting a small bit of help was already a great step in the right decision.
You know what? Life is unfair? Now you’re going to have your first dance performance and your stupid big brother can’t be there because he’s blind. What a fucker. Like yeah no it’s not his fault he’s blind. And you know he is sad about not being here either. But you’re just so angry. Not at him. Of course not at him. But your anger needs to be directed somewhere and he’s the poor target. But he promised he told you he’d be there! And he isn’t! Or at least you thought he wasn’t. But during your dance you got a view of the public, and you see him. Sitting in the worst spot with the worst view. The perfect spot for him. You wonder what he is doing here? He can’t see you what’s the point! You don’t know, so you ask him after the show. And he tells you. He can’t see you, but he has heard you practicing all this time and knows when your song is on. And the noise of the public and the gasps when you do a particularly hard move are enough for him to know that you where amazing. Are amazing. And well if you cry a little nobody needs to know.
Clover and Snake have become almost inseparable. Not out of necessity but out of choice. The choice to stick by the one person you know will be there for you through everything. When clover gets a bit over excited she has Light to calm her down and remind her to use her brain. When Light gets to stressed or stuck up, she reminds him to loosen up and crack some jokes. The siblings would do everything for each other. (and maybe perhaps they will). Clover is Light’s eyes, and Light is Clovers anchor. Both striving to make sure the other is safe and happy. So when it’s clovers birthday the least Light can do it go pluck her come four leaved clovers. A small thing to make his sister’s special day even more special!
What is the nveol you're reading I am kind of Intrigued ...
"After appearing on a dating reality show with my ex, I became popular" - ml is a famous actor and gets caught on camera with mc, a poor unknown screenwriter. They get invited to a dating show except they actually broke up a while ago and what was happening in the photo was ml begging mc to take him back, so now they have to pretend to be together again.
It's nice if you're just looking for something easygoing and sweet to read, but if you want something with tension this is not it. The relationship issues get resolved pretty quick.
