Secret Third Option: Make a plot based fic AND a PWP fic
I think the plot "cupid who falls in love with a human and leaves his life as cupid" a bit clichéd, I've read a lot of fanfics with this theme and I've never really found anything brilliant. BUT if there was a madohomu like that.....I would read it........
Ladybug’s Finale Chapter 4
1, 2 3
“What are you doing for lunch?”
Marinette only stared at her blonde desk mate. She must have heard him wrong.
“Eating?” Was the only response she could think of. Fantastic.
Adrien giggled, which was off-putting since Marinette was pretty sure she’s never seen either Adrien or Chat giggle. Adrien usually politely smiles. Chat chuckles. This was new.
“I meant-” He smiled so easily, “can we eat together?”
Marinette wanted to say yes, but she had already promised Fu she would go in for another training session.
However, she was pretty far ahead if her suit and weapons had anything to say about it.
“If you’re free, don’t you want to eat with Nino?”
“Oh, I’m absolutely not free.” Adrien grinned even wider. Marinette was afraid Fu may have broke him. “And he’s not my biggest fan right now.”
“Wait-” she raised an eyebrow, “you’re not free?”
“I have a piano lesson. But I’m tired and feel like breaking my diet with sugar.”
Marinette stifled a laugh.
“Sure, I can help with that.”
“Perfect.”
When lunch rolled around, Marinette was sure they weren’t going to slip past the rest of the class unnoticed.
“Sunshine, I love you boy but you definitely owe me an apology.” Alya stood tall with Lila and Nino behind her, blocking the door. Adrien only groaned. Marinette stood on edge.
“Alya I will, but not until my friend gets an apology first.” Adrien narrowed his eyes and slung an arm around Marinette’s shoulders. She was stiff as a board.
Nino only looked confused, “Are we not all friends?”
Adrien gave him a sad smile and turned to Marinette. Oh, she was supposed to answer this one.
“We are,” she said gently, “but if I’m honest you guys haven’t been very good ones lately.”
Marinette could feel venomous words begins to pile in her mouth. Everything she wanted to say and scream to her classmates and Alya. She clenched her fist and felt her chest grow cold.
“What are you talking about?” Alya defended. “You’re my b-best friend.” She said ‘best’ weakly, glancing at Lila who remained silent. Marinette knew she wasn’t Alya’s best friend, they haven’t been that for a while.
“Marinette, why are trying to tell Adrien that we’re bad friends?” Lila’s lower lip trembled, a perfected move that sent the class into a jumble of overlapping whispers.
“Dude, you turned my bro against me?” Nino looked like he was a puppy that had just been kicked.
“That’s not cool!”
“Aren’t you always preaching unity?”
“Marinette, you’re supposed to accept everyone!”
Marinette barked out a sharp laugh. The class fell into silence. She glanced around the room at people she hadn’t spoken to in months. Turned against an everyday Ladybug in moments with just one line from Rossi.
“I do accept everyone. Except those that have hurt me and my friends.” She looked directly at Lila, who still wore glistening tears. “And right now the only person to have stood up for me, defended me, hell- even spoken to me- is Adrien.”
Alya looked like she wanted to refute that, but months of radio silence between the two girls reminded her that Marinette had a point.
Adrien took his arm off Marinette’s shoulder and instead offered her his elbow.
“Not to end this incredibly uncomfortable conversation short,” he glanced at the class, “but I’m starving.”
She tentatively put her arm around his and the two walked out. Alya moved aside, lips tightly pressed together. Lila sent Marinette a seething glare.
Marinette however, felt a bit better. She felt a small amount of weight relieved from the pit of her stomach. She still has more to say, but Marinette was beginning to feel less numb.
It was still a lot. It felt as if her heart were buzzing awake with pins and needles, after keeping her emotions in check all this time. She glanced at Adrien as they walked to her house.
She wasn’t beginning to get feelings again, right?
Hey! I meant the puking because of emotional turmoil thing! Like a panic attack or sudden news?? A little angst w happy ending type thing! I love your writing!
TW: depictions of vomit
“Hello?” Alex answered his phone, although he didn’t recognize the number, it was a Lawrence area code.
“Alex Martinez?” a woman asked.
“This is him,” Alex replied, frowning.
“Hi this is KUMC, we’re calling at the request of Charlotte Jackson who was brought in to the ER following a car accident this afternoon,” the voice told him.
“O-oh my god. Is? Is she okay?” Alex asked, stumbling over his words. His tongue felt like lead in his mouth. He squeezed his eyes shut tightly, forcing himself to take a deep breath to fight the panic that was rising inside of him.
“She’s in surgery right now, I can’t disclose anything else over the phone, I’m sorry,” she said.
“Oh god, okay, I’ll be there in a few minutes,” Alex said. When he opened his eyes the room tilted before him. He phone slipped out of his hand, falling to the floor.
“Alex?”
Tayden walked into the living room in time to see Alex drop his phone on the ground, staring straight ahead with wide, unfocused eyes. His face was deathly pale and his hands were shaking.
“Alex, hey, what’s going on?” Tayden asked, walking over to him. He placed a hand on Alex’s shoulder as his breathing became erratic.
“I-I c-can’t-”, Alex stammered, then pitched forward and vomited all over the floor.
“Oh fuck!” Tayden jumped back, scrambling away from Alex. “Jules!” he yelled, before rushing off to the bathroom, now feeling nauseated himself.
“Tay! Babe are you sick?” Julius cried, running into the bathroom.
“I’m- I’m fine. Go help- Alex,” Tayden waved Julius away between gags, fighting down panic of his own from the prospect of getting sick.
Julius hesitated, but when he heard retching from the living room he left Tayden to go find Alex. He rushed over to him, grabbing him by the arm to help support his shaking frame, draping another arm around his back.
“Alex, breathe, what happened?” he asked, trying not to sound too frantic.
“Char- accident- hospital,” he gasped, panting over the mess he’d made on the floor.
“Charlotte got in a car accident?” Julius confirmed. “Okay, well let’s go to the hospital then. I’m sure she’s fine Alex,” Julius said, helping Alex straighten up.
“What if she-” Alex started, but was cut off by Julius.
“No. You can’t think like that man, she’s gonna be fine. Go put some shoes on. I’ll drive you,” Julius said firmly, although his heart was pounding inside of his chest too.
“O-okay,” he said shakily, scrubbing a hand down his face.
“Your stomach feeling settled now?” Julius asked. He really didn’t want Alex to puke in his car.
“I think so,” Alex answered, swiping his arm across his face to wipe away the tears that were falling.
“Alright, I’m gonna go check on Tay and then we can go, sit tight,” he said.
Julius hurried back to the bathroom, where Tayden was sitting on the edge of the bathtub, eyes closed. It didn’t appear like he’d actually gotten sick, but he was pretty pale.
“You okay?” he asked, ruffling Tayden’s hair.
“Mmm, yeah, I’ll be alright. Is he okay?” Tayden asked, taking a shaky deep breath.
“He said the hospital called, Charlotte got in a car accident. So I’m gonna take him there. Are you gonna be alright?” Julius asked.
“Yeah, go,” Tayden nodded.
“Okay, you might want to avoid the living room until I get back to clean up,” Julius said, pressing a kiss to Tayden’s cheek before hurrying to grab some shoes and his keys.
“Alright, let’s go,” Julius said, ushering Alex out the door. “Hey, breathe,” he reminded him as he continued to panic.
Julius drove quickly, navigating the downtown traffic expertly to get them there as fast as he safely could. When they got to the hospital, he parked near the ER entrance and pulled Alex inside by his arm, as he was too freaked out to function hardly.
“Hi, we’re here to see Charlotte Jackson. This is her boyfriend Alex, you guys called him a little bit ago,” Julius told the lady at the front desk, as Alex seemed incapable of talking at the moment.
“Oh, yes! She just got out of surgery, I can take you to see her,” the woman said, getting up to lead them through a set of doors and down a hallway.
“She’s okay?” Alex asked, speaking for the first time since they’d left the house.
“She’s stable, yes. Her lung collapsed, from being punctured by a few broken ribs, but she’s going to be okay. It’ll just take some time,” the nurse answered, smiling sympathetically at Alex.
Julius grabbed Alex’s arm, giving it a reassuring squeeze as they stopped in front of a room. The nurse pushed the door open, gesturing for Alex to go in. He turned to look back at Julius, who nodded at him to go. He leaned against the door frame as Alex approached Charlotte, who was laying on the bed, looking frail and broken, but definitely alive.
“Alex!” Char said weakly.
Alex just burst into tears, dropping down into the chair next to her bed and laying his head down on her leg.
“Oh, sweetie,” she said, tears welling in her own eyes. She draped an arm over his shoulders, bringing her other hand up to run her fingers through his hair. “Hey, look at me,” she said, turning his face up toward her,
“I’m okay Alex,” she said, cupping his face in the palm of her hand.
“I was so scared Char,” he whispered, tears still streaming down his cheeks.
“I know, I’m sorry,” she smiled.
“I’m just so glad that you’re okay,” he said, grabbing her hand in his and bringing it up to his lips to press a kiss to the back of her hand.
“I love you,” Charlotte said, looking at him earnestly. He snapped his head up to look at her again, his eyes wide. Had he heard her right? She loved him?
“I-I love you too,” he stammered, breaking out in a grin despite the tears on his cheeks. Then he leaned forward to kiss her, both of them smiling like idiots. He’d never said the ‘L’ word to anyone before.
Ladybug’s Finale
Chapter 2
- didn’t expect this to get any attention, but appreciate it nonetheless!-
“Ladybug, remember to breathe.” Adrien spoke, slightly panicked. The heroine’s air of mystery and professionalism in her new suit was lost with her wheezing, bent over with hands on her knees.
“Oh my god I’m an idiot. Of course you’re Chat, same blonde hair, same eyes, nobody showers that much! How could I have never seen it?” Ladybug spoke rapidly, freaking out not because Chat was Adrien, someone she didn’t really know how to feel about, but how blind she was to it all.
“Are you upset?” Adrien looked downwards, not meeting her eyes.
Ladybug’s Finale Chapter 5

One hour earlier
Alya watched Marinette and Adrien walk out through the double doors, probably to Marinette’s house to have lunch. She felt as if there was a small rock sitting at the pit of her stomach. When was the last time she had a sleepover with Marinette? Or even stopped by the shop to say hi?
“Babe?” Nino placed a hand on his girlfriend’s shoulder, “You alright?”
“Adrien was so...harsh. She’s my best friend I would never-” Alya wanted to finish, but something began to crawl into her heart. A realization. A seedling of guilt. She had not spoken to her supposed best friend in over two months.
“Alya? Are we not going to lunch?” Lila pouted her lips, green eyes shining. Alya had been eating lunch with Lila everyday- but hadn’t Marinette been right beside her the entire time? Were they not all friends?
Alya quickly grabbed her phone, scrolling past quite a few other text threads until she got to Marinette. That’s impossible, they text all the time.
It’s okay, just don’t forget to come over Saturday! Marinette had sent, a little over three months ago.
Alya? You’re an hour late..you okay? Alya didn’t show up. Why didn’t she show up? Alya could feel Nino peering over her shoulder. There wasn’t a notification bubble, so she must have seen these messages but-
Two unread messages.
Haven’t talked in a while..want to hang out?
How come she never saw these messages? Alya tried racking her brain. Lila needed her help on homework, or maybe she wanted to go to the mall before her big trip? She was baby-sitting? Alya’s breathing started becoming shallow and quick. She felt the little seed grow. The guilt crawled up her neck and was filling her lungs.
I..miss you. Sent two months ago. Marinette had sent that over two months ago, and Alya never saw it. She didn’t see her best friend, didn’t answer her calls or texts, she can’t remember the last time she gushed over boys with her.
“I wouldn’t- I didn’t mean to-” Alya felt a lump in her throat, and her eyes began to burn. Had she really left Marinette behind?
Somewhere in the dark, a window opened.
Nathan’s Birthday
So Nathan’s birthday was about a month ago, on June 26th and I was planning to do this bday fic for him but clearly that didn’t happen so I’m doing it now even though it’s way late.

“Good morning babe, happy birthday!!” Hazel said excitedly as Nathan entered the kitchen.
“Happy birthday Nate!” Zander echoed with a smile.
“Aw thanks guys,” Nathan replied, grinning at his girlfriend and his younger brother, who were already up and making pancakes, his favorite. “You guys didn’t have to do this,” he continued.
“Everyone should get a special breakfast on their special day,” Hazel smiled, bringing over a plate with two pancakes over for him.
“Thank you babe,” he said. Hazel leaned over and gave him a kiss, then walked back into the kitchen to get a plate for herself.
Zander sat down opposite him and pushed a small wrapped present across the table. Nathan smiled, it had been so good to have his brother around, although he knew it was only a temporary solution. He worried about Zander so much normally and he always missed him, so he was grateful for this time that they got to live together. He couldn’t help but worry about what came next though, him and Hazel couldn’t afford to support a 14 year old forever.
“Here you go, open them up,” Hazel set another wrapped gift down on the table when she came back in with a plate for her and one for Zander. Nathan took a bite of his pancakes, then picked up the gift from Zander. He opened the box to find a fancy pair of dress socks in red, his favorite!
“Aw wow thanks Zand, these look great!” he said, pulling them out with a smile.
“You’re welcome,” Zander beamed, looking very proud of himself, although Nathan was sure that Hazel had helped him pick them out.
He took a few more bites of his pancake before picking up Hazel’s gift. He unwrapped it and opened up the box, revealing a watch. It was an leather banded analog watch. His had broken a long time ago, and he’d been meaning to buy a new one, but had never gotten around to it.
“Wow, Hazel thank you, this is awesome,” he said, quickly putting it on his wrist.
“I’m glad you like it,” Hazel smiled, admiring how good the watch looked on his wrist.
“These are awesome guys, seriously, and the pancakes are great, thank you,” Nathan said, feeling so incredibly lucky. With the way he grew up, he’d never had a birthday like this, not really.
“I do have one more present for you,” Hazel said, biting her lip. “It’s kind of for both of you actually,” she said, glancing back and forth between Nathan and Zander.
“Both of us?” Zander asked in confusion. It wasn’t his birthday, why would Hazel have gotten him something too?
“It’s not really a physical thing, and it’s not for sure yet, but...” Hazel trailed off, practically vibrating with excitement, which she was trying to contain for the sake of building anticipation.
“Just spit it out babe, you’re killing us,” Nathan joked, although he was beginning to feel a bit nervous to be honest. What the hell was she up to?
“I talked to my older brother, Dean, the other day... So Dean’s wife Tammy is a social worker, so she feels really passionately about kids, especially those who are in situations like what you guys have had to deal with. And they have always wanted to have kids but Tammy can’t because of some medical reasons,” Hazel explained.
“Okay, go on,” Nathan urged. He had a suspicion of where this was going but he didn’t want to get his hopes up until he knew for sure that he was right.
“They want to adopt you Zander,” she said quickly.
“Oh my god,” Nathan laughed, relieved that he’d been right.
“What?” Zander asked in shock.
“They still have to go through the whole process and of course I’ll take you to meet them sometime soon but I know you guys will get along great. And anyway it’ll still be awhile before anything happens, but they want you Zand. And that way he’ll be close and he’ll be with people you know and trust and-” Hazel was cut off when Nathan jumped out of his chair and practically tackled her with a hug.
“Your brother is going to adopt me? Like they’ll be my new parents?” Zander asked with wide eyes.
“Yeah, kiddo, they’ll be your new parents,” Hazel nodded, reaching out to take his hand in hers.
Nathan let go of her and walked around the table to Zander, wrapping his arms tightly around him as he cried tears of his own. He’d spent his whole life worrying about Zander and trying to keep him safe, and now, for the first time ever, he really would be safe.
“They’re such good people Zand, you’re gonna be so happy there. They’ll take great care of you, I know they will,” Nathan cried, smiling at his brother as tears poured down both of their cheeks.
“Everything is going to be okay you guys,” Hazel told them.
She got up and moved to wrap an arm around both boys, feeling some tears of happiness welling in her own eyes as well.
“Thank you Hazel, thank you so much, for everything,” Zander said, looking up at her.
“You don’t have to thank me, Nathan and I both just want you to be happy,” she said.
“No Hazel seriously this is amazing, what you did, I can’t ever thank you enough for doing this. He was my responsibility, but yet you took it upon yourself and I-I don’t even know how to thank you,” Nathan stammered, almost at a loss for words.
“That’s my job love, to share your burdens. That’s what we do,” she nodded at him, smiling softly. She reached out to wipe the tears off of his cheeks as he smiled back at her.
Nathan felt like he could breathe for the first time in weeks. Zander was out of that house forever, and he was going to be somewhere with people who would love him and take care of him. People who could afford to support him.
“This is freaking amazing, Zand, seriously. They’re wonderful, I promise. And this way I’ll still get to see you lots,” Nathan turned to address his brother again, who hadn’t stopped smiling since Hazel had told them the news.
“I love you so much, both of you,” Zander cried, swiping at the tears on his cheeks as he stood up to embrace them again.
They both wrapped their arms around the boy, all of them holding eachother for a few more moments, reveling in the happiness and the knowledge that this was all going to be okay. Nathan really should’ve known that Hazel would figure it out. She had promised to keep Zander safe, and not to let anything happen to him, and Hazel did not take promises lightly. He owed her the world.
