thinking about how i would eventually like to write something about voryn witnessing the murder of nerevar after being injured badly enough by the tribunal that he couldn’t do anything except watch after regaining consciousness for a little while. 

i hc that he didn’t outlive nerevar by very long. the long span of times when he was “asleep,” he was essentially dead but being reformed by the power of the heart (probably multiple times, due to fighting with them repeatedly over the years when they came to tap the heart again). his burning hatred for almsivi stemmed from his grief and their betrayal of nerevar. 

i don’t think he would have liked vivec or almalexia, but i think he probably would have respected sil as a mage, if nothing else. (some day, i would also like to do something with the fall of ald sotha and saving sil’s life, too.)

i’m not sure if he would have cared nearly as much about them wanting to become gods if they hadn’t done that. my view of nerevar is someone who is fairly religious, but voryn much less so. i think he might’ve even respected the hustle, somewhat. 

i have never figured out what, if anything, i want to include from the narratives about nerevar and dumac fighting prior to the dwemer disappearing. in my hc, they were very good friends (i also enjoy stories about them as a couple/lovers, though i’ve been committed to my nerevoryn otp or ot3 with alandro) and figuring out how that would have eventually come to a physical fight is difficult. not impossible, just difficult to work out. (definitely not the heart-eating business, though.)

i also want to write more happy/sweet things, but i’ve always leaned toward angst since i started writing fanfic in 2003 or so. none of it can have a happy ending unless i just branch off into more of an au than i already plan on, but i want them to have been happy before the terrible end.
