Ooooh Boy… so there‘s about 2 hours left in the Light Bringer Audiobook. Darrow has given Cassius a „you‘re my best friend let’s be happy together speech“ which is the most obvious farewell speech I have ever heard. It is the nod to the reader that Cassius was happy in the end and had finished his character arc. He‘s not dead yet, but the clock is ticking.
I‘ve been spoilered that it‘s Lysander who kills him. My fault, I went on tumblr during the first trilogy. So I know that it is coming, but not how or why. And I know that people HATE Lysander for it. I‘m currently at the point where they fight Atlas together. Right now Lysander and Cassius seem pretty damn close and brotherly. I see no reason why Lysander would kill him. … except I do.
I bet it goes like this: after a gruelling fight they kill Flavinius and the other greys and finally Atlas. So it‘s only Lysander and Cassius left alive, with corpses all around them. And then others show up, reinforcements. Golds, greys, Gorgons. And standing among the bodies of the heroes of the Society, it‘s all Lysander can do to keep his reputation by pointing at Cassius and going „he did it“ and then killing him before he can see the betrayal in Cassius‘ eyes.
That is my prediction. I will find out tomorrow and return to see if I am an idiot or not.
While taking my shower, I realized that Captainsparklez' Fallen Kingdom series predicted the plot of Minecraft Legends.
I’m calling this now.... Elizabeth isn’t going to have to go through the trouble of making a choice....
Lucas is going to continue to prove he has the sole brain cell in this triangle and come to the realization she loves Nathan but is only perusing him because he is “safe” compared to being with another Mountie after Jack....
Lucas will sit Elizabeth down and pretty much give her his blessing to follow her heart and they will continue a strong, healthy, adult friendship
The “Burning” of Scylla Ramshorn
We all know Scylla is Spree and can literally burn her face off to disguise herself. Because of this, her line in the graveyard “I’ve been burned before” has been made into an ironic joke. Besides the irony, perhaps some have assumed this was a manipulative tactic to get Raelle to sympathize for her, letting her guard down in the process. Scylla could then capitalize on this sympathy to continue gas-lighting Raelle when she probes into her past.
But something has always made me wonder if she was in part telling the truth here. She is a dodger, after all, and therefore keeps herself guarded to prevent making attachments. So, if there was some semblance of truth behind this statement, what is Scylla referring to?
When Scylla runs into Porter after the game in A Biddy’s Life, we get confirmation that Scylla’s parents are in fact dead. But what we also get is Porter wishes he had the opportunity to tell Scylla how sorry he is about “that.” He doesn’t offer condolences or say he’s sorry about what the Army did. He seems to be referring to the entire operation that resulted in Scylla’s parents dying, which to me implies he may have had a hand in turning them into the Army. That he is sorry for his own actions in addition to the consequences.
There is a literal look of hatred coming from Scylla during this scene (and perhaps a bit of fear about being recognized and called out). But maybe she blames Porter for her parents’ death. Perhaps it was Porter who “burned” her in the past, having someone she trusted lead to her family being destroyed. Maybe her parents were literally burned when the arrest went south.
A possible Easter egg that could support this is when Porter shows up in Memorial Hall. He is standing next to a fireplace and we get this beautiful shot of Porter and the fire in focus as Scylla looks at him. Could this suggest Porter was a source of the fire that burned Scylla?
The actor who plays Porter is only credited in two episodes on IMDb, so it is unlikely we will see any new content containing him as we delve into Scylla’s past. But Scylla’s history is going to be revealed somewhat in Mother Mycelium. It would be interesting to see if we learn more about her parents and how they died and if there was any semblance of truth behind her statement in the graveyard.
Of course, this could also be foreshadowing that she is going to “burn” Porter at the end of the episode.
WE GOT SOME TOYS HERE FOLKS!
AND OUR FIRST LOOK AT DICK DASTARDLY TOO!
so spoilers down below, if you wanna wait to see him properly in the trailer and/or film
According to a fan account on instagram, scoobyandcam (they also have a facebook page), they got some pictures of some all new Scooby toys coming out... and they lead to some interesting ideas about the plot.
First of all, the big bad himself:
a lot taller, broader, and reminiscent of the bad guy from Un Monstre a Paris if he underwent intense eyebrow sculpting:
but to me the more interesting part is what SCOOBY is wearing
a Blue Falcon-esque (dare I say it?) sidekick costume
and no collar
as we saw in the trailer, that’s a pretty big moment - Scooby’s a stray puppy who’s given a home and a sign of that home - the collar - by Shaggy, cementing their life-long friendship
now whenever you signal something like that is in your movie, it usually leads to some big heartbreaking moment where one person leaves the other behind (before returning in Act 3, having learned the error of their ways, power of friendship, blah blah blah the usual song and dance)
this becomes even more interesting when you see THIS pairing in another box:
Shaggy and Dynomutt.
My prediction now, is this: something happens to Dynomutt that leads to him becoming more like his goofy self in the show. From the minimal info we have from trailers, as well as his general design being far more composed and less silly in this version, I think that Dastardly will do something to alter Dynomutt that leaves him unsuitable for combat alongside the Blue Falcon. After all, the little white scorpion bots are probably Dastardly’s creations (same fins, purple eyes, etc), so he would know how to interfere with a robotic target like Dynomutt.
While Dynomutt is being repaired, Scooby is drafted into helping Blue Falcon as his temporary sidekick, something Shaggy encourages because hey, it’s the freaking Blue Falcon, why not? Scooby stumbles at first, but then a major victory! followed by bad news: Dynomutt cannot be fully repaired. Blue Falcon turns around and offers the position to Scooby; they NEED to stop Dastardly, and he can’t do it alone! Ultimately, spurred on by the need to do right, Scooby accepts, and Shaggy and a dysfunctional Dynomutt are left behind. When Scooby and Blue Falcon are later in danger, world is ending, usual schitick, Shaggy, Dynomutt, and the rest of Mystery Inc come to save them. Scooby comes back, Blue Falcon realizes that Dynomutt can still be his partner, cue credits.
...of course, I could be completely wrong, and all of this will be COMPLETELY debunked by the next trailer, but hey, it’s fun to imagine :D
Here, have some more clear images of boxed toys!
Enter the Florpus Predictions
We’ve gotten the official synopsis from Nickelodeon, which is that ZIM realizes his mission is fake and that the Tallest have exiled him. But one question none of us could answer was how does he find out?
ZIM has been told to his face at least twice about the Tallest’s treachery and has chosen not to believe it. Short of the Tallest telling him themselves, it’s hard to see what could prompt that realization.
Well, the latest stills we’ve gotten may provide an answer.
It was speculated as early as last July that the movie might retell “The Trial” in some way, due to the presence of Control Brains and the shot of some kind of claw arm reaching for ZIM’s PAK. In this image, we get a closeup of that same scene and see that ZIM is handcuffed. So, yes, it definitely looks like we’ll be revisiting “The Trial,” and by the look on ZIM’s face, I’d say it’s not going too well.
Now, “The Trial” is interesting for, well, a lot of reasons, but one that many people don’t talk about is that in that episode, ZIM seems to recognize the Tallest as a legitimate danger to him.
We usually think of ZIM as having this uncrackable shell of idiocy and full confidence in his beliefs. He knows he’s the greatest being ever to live, he knows the Tallest love him and will always have his back, and he knows they gave him a special mission because of how cool he is. But here, we see it’s not as hard to convince ZIM that that’s all false as it seemed.
Now, “The Trial” ended in such a way that ZIM was able to dismiss the events of the episode as an elaborate prank by the Tallest, but what if the Enter the Florpus version of the scene doesn't?
What if when ZIM attempts to make a break for it during his trial, he succeeds? He breaks his shackles, lasers are firing, explosions happen, he gets in a ship, he runs...
But where does he run to?
He’s a fugitive. No more pretending, no way to dismiss what just happened, he knows his empire hates him. ZIM is foolishly loyal, but he’s not suicidal. He knows he can’t go to an Irken planet. The only place he can really hide is Earth.
So, he goes there. But, how can he bring himself to conquer it now when he knows it’s all a lie? What is he doing here? What are any of us doing here?
No more purpose. No more people. No more home. It’s all tumbling down, as it were.
Now, as for why ZIM is sent to trial in the first place, I haven’t the faintest idea. It didn’t really seem motivated in the original episode; we just opened with ZIM on trial. But, it could be that some kind of scheme of ZIM’s backfires during the course of the movie that causes the Control Brains to take this step. Possibly a plan involving pizza?
These pizza emblems show up at least twice in the teaser trailer. Since both times, they’re in the same frame as Minimoose, and there’s another shot where we see GIR operating some kind of pizza cannon, I’d wager that the pizza sticker has something to do with a scheme of ZIM’s.
Now, what kind of pizza-related scheme could result in devastation wide enough to call for ZIM’s to be brought in for Existence Evaluation?
I haven’t the faintest idea, but the results will probably be messy.
So, the plot as we have it now is ZIM’s comeback -> pizza scheme -> horrible backfire -> Existence Evaluation -> existential crisis
That’s only a theory, though. I can’t wait until spring to see how incredibly wrong I am!
@fcmachado, I can see where you are coming from however I was thinking of it being less recycling and more of developing Marco’s character and perhaps also showing insecurities change overtime. Plus this time round Marco will know about the Naysaya straight away, so it will kinda be like “Awww man!!! Not again. I thought I dealt with all my insecurities.” And perhaps it forcing Marco to look in on themself and figure out what has changed since they got together with Jackie.
I mean chances are, it won’t be a Naysaya episode and it will be focused on the laser puppy, Marco Jr. I just liked the plot prediction I came up with though so went with it.
