This is such a random thing, and I will admit that I haven't read many comics (mainly seen the singular comic panels that people post but have read Children's Crusade and og Young Avengers comics) but I get the feeling that Tommy Maximoff (or Shepherd, both work) is treated as a mirror of Pietro, his uncle, due to their speed and more cynical personalities, whereas Billy Maximoff (Kaplan) is treated as Wanda's mirror, therefore meaning that they both only get the interactions with that family member mainly. Like, I can find so many shots of Wanda and Billy together, or Pietro and Tommy together, but none really of Wanda and Tommy, which makes me sad, because she's his mother too, and his other mother isn't really the best.
Tommy is labelled as the 'bad twin', the destructive one, the asshole who doesn't do feelings that much, and in no way is that not a valid way to characterize him or to make a personality, as he is the one with a juvie record and thirst for violence, I do think it prevents him from having his own moments and that humanity in him really showing.
He's also limited by his speed powers, which are very overused and he doesn't bring a unique take to them, minus bombs, which anyone with some time and motivation can do really.
(I think they should make him more powerful, like with much greater time manipulation powers, because his mother is the fucking SCARLET WITCH and his soul was made from MEPHISTO, not just his brother should be overpowered)
Anyway, I think there should be more exploration of Tommy as the Scarlet Witch's parallel.
She is a wielder of chaos magic, and chaos magic is both constructive and destructive - Billy as the Demiurge is obviously the constructive half, creating universes and all that, so that leaves Tommy as time (as time destroys all) as the destructive half.
When she is her most destructive, it's when she is in her darkest mind set, and we know Tommy is the darker (as in personality and life experiences) of the twins, so it makes sense.
I WANT TOMMY SHEPHERD TO APPEAR IN MORE COMICS AS A POWERFUL CHARACTERS WHO IS NOT JUST A YOUNGER VERSION OF HIS UNCLE
In Xmen Tommy is distraught when he finds his mother's body, but we never see the relationship that builds up to that, because he is always viewed as the next Pietro, and Billy as the next Wanda.
Maybe if the MCU remembers him they'll do it.
