It was easier to blame the alcohol, but anyone that knew Beckett was well aware that she found herself in these sorts of positions all too often. Her back flush against clothes hangers and her feet kicking shoes and throw bags out of the way, her only worry was keeping quiet enough that nobody would hear them as her hands wandered and her lips ventured newfound pieces of exposed skin, her own clothes adding to the messy floor of the closet as time went on. “Shhh,” She whispered, barely breaking a kiss to do so. She knew this was a bad idea -- There were so many people on the other side of that door, and no matter how loud the music of the party was, the last thing they needed was to get caught.
To say that Leland’s journey had been a difficult one was an understatement. She’d seen things that she thought were only real in movies and comic books, watching mindless monsters destroy the city and kill the people she had grown to trust and care about. She’d been at school when the terrors began, and while he first instinct had been to look for her brother, the blocked paths made it more than difficult to leave the building in one piece, instead finding refuge in the third floor’s dorms, along with a few other trapped students. They’d traveled together the entire way, but it killed Leland to know that only three of them had survived the entire trip.
She’d only just arrived earlier that day, nothing more on her person than a backpack full of dirty clothes she had worn in a rotating cycle, and an old water bottle. Deciding it wasn’t worth taking up to her room, she took the photo she kept of herself and Davey, shoving it in her back pocket before dumping the entire bag into the trash. As she let go of the fabric, she noticed someone nearby looking across at her. If only her glasses hadn’t been broken along the way, maybe she would have been able to tell if she knew them or not. Offering a smile and the wave of her hand, she hoped for the best, figuring they’d let her know, one way or another.
oh boy look out i’m thinking about kyra again and how all she wanted from life was to escape her villain father and be the opposite of him but the hero society completely rejected her and assumed she would end up like him... when really she now spends most of her time trying to hunt him down and other villains as a vigilante. not to mention she really operates in the less fortune parts of the city that gets ignored, helping those who really need it, because she knows what it’s like to cry out for help but no one listens or helps.

&&. TIMELINE ;
do any major changes or events occur during adolescence that triggered a certain behaviour or change in perspective? ever since infanthood, saskia lived in the shadow of her older sister. the two loved each other dearly, but during early teenhood, it constantly occurred to her that victoria was the golden child of the family.
how independent was and is your character? growing up, she had been highly dependent on her mother & her sister, however, upon joining the cartel, unbeknownst to them, she began to detach herself from their familial guidance.
what is their main goal? acceptance. cheesy as it sounds, when she’d been recruited, she had her first taste of what she believed to be acceptance. she was approached, not her sister. it eased her to know that she’d been acknowledged for something, & not just because she was victoria agourram’s little sister.
&&. THE SAINT PAUL CARTEL ;
when and why did they decide to join the cartel? although the family was fairly well off, saskia desired a certain edge to her otherwise mundane lifestyle. kleptomania had seized her at fifteen. a watch off a bypasser, a necklace off a cafe regular, a key card for a night at a five-star hotel –– - a wallet off a man she certainly should not have even attempted to cross. she hadn’t known at the time, but alexei ovechkin had had his eye on her for some time, observing her discreet hand movements, her swift, inaudible footsteps & the determination in her eyes. at sixteen, she was young, but he saw potential.
what is their role within the gang? when she’d first joined the cartel, saskia had been recruited as a thief. not long later, the cartel began using her for larger tasks, sending her out to gain information, raising her position to an extortionist. by nineteen, she is considered one of saint paul’s best at her job.
additional thoughts? are they happy where they are or do they want out? saskia is more than happy about where she is. she desires to eventually climb the ranks within the cartel – not for fame or power, but to prove to herself that she is able to earn that.
