Fatal attraction aspects tend to invoke intense triggering, emotional responses, obsessive tendencies, jealousy, delusions and possessiveness. Individuals with these aspects in the natal chart tend to continuously attract highly karmic or toxic connections. People tend to either love them or hate them, or sometimes both (Venus square Mars). Some of these aspects have a great deal of relationship karma to work through this lifetime. These relationships can be emotionally and physically volatile but necessary for the individuals growth. The connections tend to involve themes around learning how to set boundaries, self love, selfishness, sacrifice, and emotional vulnerability. Our choice in partners at any given time show how evolved we are as individuals mentally spiritually and emotionally, when we choose partners who neglect us, or when we convince ourselves to neglect ourselves for our partnerships, the result is a hard love lesson. (Venus square North Node) Getting a synastry reading at beginning stages of a connection can show us what energetic pitfalls may lie ahead. Not to scare or deter us, but to help bring awareness. When we know what is ahead it takes away the energy and we are empowered to make different choices and navigate our responses. People with abandonment wounding and issues with self worth have fragile egos may crash out when rejected or when they perceive they have been taken advantage of, and can be vengeful (Scorpio Moon, Mercury). On the flip side, certain planetary aspects like Pluto and Neptune can bring out energies a person never knew existed within them, as Pluto brings out our energetic shadows and lower vibrational energies, (Mars/Venus opposite/square Pluto) and Neptune can make someone blind to the nuances of their partnership. (Neptune opposite/square Venus).
Venus square Mars (natal/synastry)- in the natal this aspect tends to attract partners who are toxic or volatile. They mistake toxicity and possessiveness for passion and dedication. They tend to jump into physical connections rather quickly and they tend to end just as fast. In synastry this aspect indicates a highly magnetic physical attraction that may have started off physical very quickly. There may be arguments, power struggles and the couple may be off and on.
Pluto square Mars (natal/synastry)- In the natal this person may meet people who are constantly challenging them and testing their limits. Because Mars is the physical body, physical altercations that result in bodily injury to themselves or someone else is likely. In synastry there can be magnetic physical attraction, obsession, possessiveness, power struggles, as well as verbal, and or physical altercations.
Pluto square Venus (natal/synastry)- In the natal chart this person may be attracted to toxic or low vibrational partnerships, they want their partners to be obsessed with them as they are just as obsessive, they want all or nothing, and will use their sxxxual energy to manipulate their partner if they have to to get what they want. In synastry Pluto can be highly obsessed and possessive of the Venus person. If the relationship is physically consummated and then Venus pulls away, ghosts or tries to walk away because of Pluto's intensity things can get ugly really fast, as Pluto's shadow energy is then activated.
Pluto opposite/square Sun (synastry)- The Pluto person is magnetically attracted to the Sun person's energy and light, once the connection is physically consummated, Pluto's obsessive, possessive energy is activated. In the opposition the obsession can go both ways.
Lilith opposite/square Mars (natal/synastry) Lilith may attract obsessive, possessive and controlling partners. People that want to challenge or dominate. Connections can be volatile or tumultuous. Stalking from current or ex partners and strangers can be a thing as well. In synastry there will be power struggles, passion and a push pull dynamic between Lilith and Mars. With the Mars person asserting their dominance in the connection and Lilith constantly pushing back, this may lead to verbal or physical altercations.
Composite, Synastry & Draconic synastry chart: Pluto aspects to Sun in relationship charts
Keep in mind that in order to understand the specific effects, we have to study the whole chart.
Pluto conjunct Sun
In Composite: In the composite chart, this aspect symbolizes that the relationship between those involved is filled with energy for transformation, transcendence, growth, and evolution of personality, ego, and self-expression aspects. It brings to the surface elements of oneself that were hidden, even from the individual. These elements primarily pertain to the relationship itself, though they eventually affect the individuals in their individuality. As a result, the involved parties may naturally encounter issues related to ego and relationship expression with intensity, which can sometimes lead to conflicts due to the enormous amount of energy involved. This represents an incredible opportunity for learning and evolution, with the ultimate use of this energy being up to those involved. However, this aspect can also signify a relationship with very intense power dynamics. These power dynamics may involve a desire to "show others" something through the relationship itself, potentially leading to issues of control and intense pride that need to be addressed in the relationship.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, when the individual with Pluto influences the individual with the Sun, it means the former brings an energy of transformation, helping the latter access and embrace aspects of their personality, individuality, and self-expression that they hadn't previously explored. This energy brought by Pluto comes with intensity. The person with Pluto may evoke a strong attraction from the person with the Sun due to this intensity and the mystery they convey. This influence may also serve as a catalyst for the person with the Sun to explore themselves more deeply. Depending on the rest of the synastry chart and the choices made by those involved, this aspect may lead to power struggles, issues of control, or obsession. It is important for the person with the Sun to navigate the Plutonian energy skillfully, addressing their internal issues that emerge for healing and transformation.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart (Draconic A x Draconic B), this aspect represents the souls' choice to engage in a relationship for the purpose of transcending and transforming aspects of their personalities that still require attention. This choice entails a willingness to evolve in acceptance of their shadow personality traits. The connection between these souls may be spiritual, deep, and intense, as represented by the presence of Pluto. There may be dynamics of control to be transmuted, meaning that the motivation isn't solely growth and evolution, but also the need to release control patterns and dependencies, which the souls may have agreed to learn together.
Pluto trine Sun
In Composite: The trine is an aspect of ease. However, it doesn't mean that the exchange between Pluto and the Sun will be easy, beautiful, or purely harmonious. Pluto represents deep issues, transformation, regeneration, pain, shadow, and trauma. In the composite chart, this aspect implies an ease for people in the relationship to address their shadow aspects, difficult issues, hidden fears, or traumas that may be preventing progress. There is also an inherent ease in allowing Plutonian energy to flow in the expression of the relationship, making both individuals intense beings in their relationship experience, with high energy, including sexual energy. Despite this being a trine, caution should be exercised to avoid excesses.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, this aspect means the person with Pluto facilitates the person with the Sun to comfortably engage with the intense and darker aspects of life, which doesn't necessarily mean negative things. Pluto brings forth issues that were previously unseen for the Sun to shine on, allowing these issues to emerge. Since it's a trine, this may occur through friendly and open communication rather than conflicts or disputes. It's an opportunity to delve into oneself more deeply and in a transformative manner.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect indicates that one soul has an immense capacity to assist the other with their shadow aspects. Particularly, the person with Pluto brings the energy to unearth unexplored topics. Through energetic exchange, they understand and navigate the Plutonian dance, realizing the importance of addressing their shadow aspects for evolution, not just individually but also within the relationship itself.
Pluto sextile Sun
In Composite: In the composite chart, this aspect symbolizes the ease with which the relationship can bring about regeneration, healing, and a slightly greater awareness of shadow aspects and internal issues that were previously hidden. The relationship has a deep, intimate, intense, and regenerative approach that isn't necessarily imbalanced. This ease is used when both individuals make some effort to achieve it through adjustments, as it's a sextile.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, the person with Pluto offers the person with the Sun the chance to explore previously unaddressed parts of themselves and to experience Plutonian energy in their individuality. There's also the potential for the relationship to help regenerate the ego to some extent.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect presents a significant opportunity for growth, healing, and regeneration. Through effort, specific actions, and adjustments, both souls seek to connect with their inner shadows, hidden aspects, insecurities, fears, and traumas.
Pluto square Sun
In Composite: Pluto square Sun implies tension, conflict, and inherent issues, as signs in a square aspect are highly discordant and speak different languages, though not necessarily opposing. As a result, this relationship provides an immense opportunity for learning. The tensions and difficulties that arise are indicative of something that needs to be evolved in their expression toward each other, influenced by Plutonian energies. Thus, there is often something to be evolved in how they relate to each other, and this transformation is impacted by Plutonian influences. Be aware that these conflicts may manifest through control, power issues, intense emotions, and challenges related to personality aspects. The conflicts may range from intense problems of control to opportunities for growth and lighter tensions. Either way, something in the relationship needs to evolve in the way they express themselves to each other, and it will be influenced by Plutonian energies. Awareness is the key.
In Synastry: In a synastry chart, the person with Pluto may induce tension and conflicts in the person with the Sun, bringing forward fears, projections, defense mechanisms, and more. It is essential for both the person with Pluto and the person with the Sun to understand that these conflicts present an opportunity for learning and growth, not a struggle for dominance. The person with the Sun may feel defensive as Pluto brings unresolved personality issues to the surface. Pluto acts as a catalyst, helping to bring these issues to the conscious or subconscious level, and it needs to understand its transformative role in the relationship, which isn't about control or manipulation. In this aspect, as in all aspects, but especially this one, communication and self-awareness are crucial.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, the souls involved may have a commitment to transmute and release internal defense patterns, issues of expression, and personality aspects that no longer serve a purpose. It's a process of healing and change, rebirth, and regeneration, but it requires care and consciousness. Squares in Draconic charts represent significant opportunities for change, as well as signs of conflict, pain, wounds, and tensions. Therefore, it's important to be cautious about using this energy unconsciously.
Pluto opposite Sun
In Composite: Pluto opposite Sun indicates that both planets are essentially speaking opposite languages. This aspect introduces an energy of tug-of-war into the relationship. There may be fear of fully opening up and revealing oneself to the other due to concerns about the other person's reaction. This fear may lead to ego defenses. There are many possibilities, but the primary face of this aspect is the initial difficulty in navigating the energies of the Sun and Pluto. It is crucial for both people in the relationship to understand the importance of learning from the opposite and recognize the potential for healthy exploration of expressive issues. If they embark on this journey without the need to control each other, they may discover the potential for enhanced expression within the relationship and greater trust in one another. The keyword is healing through trust and letting go.
In Synastry: This aspect introduces an energy of tug-of-war. The person with the Sun may be afraid to yield to the person with Pluto, who exudes a sense of control and challenge, whether consciously or unconsciously. These energies may not be well-received by the person with the Sun because they are essentially opposite to what Pluto seeks to bring. As we deal with opposing forces, there may be a fear of losing control. Additionally, Pluto, in some ways, conveys a sense of power, which may cause the Sun to feel pushed back.
In Draconic Synastry: In the Draconic synastry chart, this aspect may represent souls that are strongly attracted to each other and recognize that there is a great potential for regeneration, learning, integration, and healing within the other person. However, they also acknowledge that there are difficulties to overcome, represented by the opposition aspect. It is important that those involved work consciously to understand their role in each other's lives, liberating these issues. Even though they are opposing forces, they can complement each other and create the necessary mix for change.
People really don't talk about house rulers in synastry enough so it's hard to search and interpret. Like me and my girlfriend have our 2nd house rulers trine (sun trine mars) and opposite (sun opp pluto). And I'm curious as to what that means given 2nd house is touch and sun trine mars is also rather physical while sun opp pluto is obsession. How does it all intersect or amplify? What's your interpretation of it?
I think generally people don't necessarily look at the terms like that because they have to assess the aspects anyway. Of course it all blends together, though you'll have better luck finding it without adding the "rulership" term in this case. Sun trine mars tends to be quite physical, yes. The ego and consciousness blends well with the physicality and ambitions of mars, this can be expressed through 2nd house themes such as values, sensuality, finances and possession- perhaps through a sense of jealousy because the 2nd house rules our perception of possession, when this comes in touch with the primal nature of mars and the ego of the Sun it can create quite some revelations. Sun opposite Pluto can get obsessive (mostly on the plutonian part), but it's essentially quite a deep connection. Because pluto change, it can bring changes to the ego and sense of self of the first person. The pluto person can be tied to 2nd house themes such as possession, and this could quickly form jealousy imo. On the other hand it's quite the spiritual connection, but the values may not align.
Megan Fox's Uranus in Sagittarius is square Machine Gun Kelly's Moon & Venus in Pisces, Megan's Pluto in Scorpio is square MGK's Taurus Sun.
We all know the couple who is always on a break or in separation but cannot stay away from one another and always seems to come back together. I will list a few of the aspects to look for in synastry and explain why the connection is so hard to break away from.
Sun square Mars- This aspect causes magnetic physical attraction (Mars) and power struggles (Sun), this the couple that is always arguing or throwing each other under the bus in one way or another. From the outside looking in you would think they are opponents and not partners. Mars (Aries) is how we fight and assert ourselves and the Sun (Leo) is our ego and personal power. This aspect is the definition of "Toxic". Breaking up and making up is par for the course with these two, as they both are not willing to back down. Because Mars and the Sun are both masculine planets and in fire, it is hard for things to cool down once they get heated.
Venus opposite/square Uranus - Venus (Libra/Taurus) is the planet of love and romance and Uranus (Aquarius) is the planet of freedom, upheaval, sudden and events and what is unconventional. (Opposition) The connection may have started suddenly for both individuals or come at a time when both were not ready or looking for a connection. The connection can be unconventional somehow, and may have a push/pull dynamic, where each has one foot in or one foot out at some point or another during the connection, causing a Hot and Cold dynamic. There can be periods of separation, could be days, weeks or months of not seeing or speaking to one another. There maybe obstacles or timing issues that get in the way of them fully coming together. With the opposition that couple has to actively choose one another, in order for the connection to sustain. (Square) The connection could have started off suddenly or moved very quickly. Uranus can be reluctant to fully commit to Venus, causing a push/pull, hot and cold dynamic due to commit issues or just wanting to be free. Venus can grow frustrated with Uranus and walk away from the connection, causing Uranus to chase them only to repeat the same behavior time and time again, there could be timing issues or they could have cultural, religious or personality differences that get in the way of the connection. The connection could be a affair, sneaky link, friends with benefits, situationship or casual encounter. The square makes magnetic pull hard to ignore and or walk away from. When the opposition is in the composite chart, the couple has a choice and has the option to stabilize, when it is in a square the connection may not be sustainable for the long term. The connection may be short lived and a lesson to be learned by both.
Mars square Mars- This dynamic causes explosive passion and can also be volatile as well. Strong physical and magnetic attraction but a connection where there are power struggles and ego battles. They have a different way of going about getting what they want, as Mars (Aries) is the planet of assertion, and taking action, so they do not always agree and each feel like their way of doing things is the right course of action. This connection tends to be on again off again. Because they can’t seem to stay away from one another.
Pluto opposite/square Ascendant/Sun- The Pluto (Scorpio) person mirrors back all of the things the Sun person does not want illuminated. The Sun (Leo) is connected to our ego (Solar Plexus Chakra) and how we view ourselves, Pluto is our shadow energy and the ugly parts of ourselves that we do not want to face or try to conceal. This connection energetically activates both individuals, the attraction is magnetic and triggering, there can be jealousy, possessiveness and power struggles on both sides with the (Opposition) but Pluto has the upper hand because they are the transformer, the Sun unconsciously knows this and will run from the connection, sabotage, or distance themselves but they always tend to come back as the chemistry and physical connection cannot be matched with anyone else. This creates a push/pull, runner/chaser dynamic that is ongoing until one or both individuals walk away, usually after the karmic contract is fulfilled or the lesson is learned.
Mars opposite/square Uranus- (Opposition) With Mars (Aries) being ruled by fire and Uranus (Aquarius) being ruled by air, this makes the chemistry in this connection explosive. As neither of these individuals will or can be controlled, but Mars will still try. Uranus does not conform, is autonomous and likes their freedom. In this connection the energy seems to flip back and forth in a game of cat and mouse, push pull, off and on. One may purposely pull away and avoid the other just to get a reaction. Arguments and discord may be foreplay. With the (Square) the energy is less fun and games, Mars can be pushy, forceful and controlling toward the Uranus person, and in turn the Uranus person may pull away or distance themselves from Mars, fueling the chase even more. Once at a safe distance and Uranus feels the fire has simmered they may allow Mars to come back into their energy only for Mars to revert back to their ways and Uranus to retreat again. Mars may want commitment, or control or both and Uranus just wants the passion.
Mars square Lilith- Mars (Aries) is magnetically, and physically attracted to the Lilith person’s energy and vice versa. Lilith is our raw, untamed feminine energy, she will not be controlled and will not bow down. This causes power struggles and discord between these two as a result. This connection tends to be on again off again. Mars person tries to control the Lilith person and cannot which results in frustration, Lilith may run away from Mars person only to be relentlessly pursued (Knight of Wands) and drawn back in.
Venus conjunct/opposite Lilith- (Conjunction) Venus (Libra/Taurus) person’s love limits are tested in this connection, with Venus being obsessed with pinning down and possessing their muse. They are chained and bound to Lilith and captivated by her elusive nature. She is the forbidden fruit. It drives them crazy but they cannot get enough. (Opposition) The obsession goes both ways, but Lilith can be manipulative of Venus and may hide her true feelings and obsession. This is even more magnetic than conjunction where the magnetic pull feels unavoidable. This may cause a push pull off and on dynamic between Venus and Lilith, as they both struggle to understand what they are feeling and why they both cannot stay away.
Moon square Uranus- The Moon person's moods or vulnerability can be too much for the Uranus person. The Uranus person can not be as emotionally invested but energetically siphons off of the Moon's emotions, but does not emotionally invest back into the connection, at least not the way the Moon feel's they should. The Uranus person although exciting and enticing is emotionally, distant or unavailable. This triggers the Moon's abandonment issues and Uranus's issues around commitment and investment. This connection tends to be off and on, as both individuals cannot let go of the connection (because it is a square of course) as there are lessons to learn here regarding child hood wounding and the shadow (Moon) and learning vulnerability and how your actions or lack thereof has lasting and karmic effects (Uranus).
Sun/Moon/Venus/Mars in the 8th house- The 8th house is ruled by Pluto (Scorpio) and tends to invoke intense obsession and fixation on the planet person. The ironic thing about this placement is that the feelings are usually one sided and unrequited. The planet feels the magnetic irresistible pull of Pluto, but if they do not share the same intense placements although they like Pluto's attention and devotion it can be triggering and off putting, causing this connection to be on again off again, because the planet person comes off hot and cold. When the planet person pulls away this only makes Pluto want to apply more pressure. It is a hard connection to walk away from and is not casual although the planet person will try to convince themselves that it is.

One of the granddaughters of Robert F. Kennedy took her own life the other day at the age of 22 after a long battle with depression. I wanted to write about this because Saoirse was of the Pluto in Sagittarius generation – the generation (born 1995-2008) that tends to be fixated on the perfection of the heavily curated Instagram life. Sagittarius is associated with media, optimism, and a search for meaning that can sometimes disappear in the haze of today’s world of instant gratification and the superficial happiness of things. A look at young female YouTubers offers an array of videos with titles like “What I Wore, Bought and Did in Capri,” “Huge Summer Try-on Haul,” “What I Wore to Coachella,” etc. Social media is shown to be harder on girls, who tend to compare themselves to others in the best of circumstances. When the comparisons are made against a curated perfection, it’s no wonder young girls are depressed. Pluto is the planet of transformation, but also of obsession and self-undoing. It offers the keys to transformation through the exposure of the qualities that will be our downfall, and this is especially true in the generations that share Pluto in a particular sign. For example, Pluto in Leo marked the Baby Boomers – the generation that is fixated on our own glorious self expression (Leo traits). Pluto in Virgo people (1957-1971) are the hard workers of Generation X – the generation which, like Virgo, tends to avoid the limelight, qualities which led to this generation being called the Slacker generation, a term which they fortunately outgrew as they matured and began to take on their roles as stable, conservative members of society. The Pluto in Sagittarius generation may be the most optimistic, especially following the Pluto …
