Shrimp Po Boy Burgers are a delightful twist on the classic Po' Boy sandwich. Crispy fried shrimp, fresh veggies, and zesty remoulade sauce come together in a tasty burger form.
Ingredients: 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined. 1 cup buttermilk. 1 cup cornmeal. 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1 tsp paprika. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. Salt and black pepper to taste. Vegetable oil for frying. 4 burger buns. Lettuce leaves. Sliced tomatoes. Sliced pickles. Remoulade sauce.
Instructions: In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add the shrimp and marinate for 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the cornmeal and all-purpose flour. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large skillet to 350F 175C. Remove shrimp from the marinade and dredge them in the cornmeal and flour mixture until well coated. Fry the shrimp in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels. Toast the burger buns in a skillet until lightly browned. To assemble the burgers, spread remoulade sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, and pickles. Place the fried shrimp on top of the vegetables, and then cover with the top half of the bun. Serve your Shrimp Po Boy Burgers hot and enjoy!
