*drumroll please*

After almost seven months in waiting, the joint podfic/writing collaboration between myself and @itsadrizzit is complete.  

Please, please listen to the podfic, because it elevates the story into its own world, with the various soundscapes. From the white noise of waves, to the sharp pop of tennis balls, and a great interlude in Ibiza that just makes the story come alive in a way that reading it on the bus or under the bedclothes mightn’t.

Because it takes a village, please read on for thanks and shout outs.

To @itsadrizzit for actually taking this story up on blind faith. It was literally me sliding into the DMs with this pitch: “I’m writing a story that will be me lovingly describing a second time again plot lovingly basket woven from the lint of my navel, are ye cool with it?” And she was like, “Yeah, shoot it over” in addition to cheerleading all the way. 

To @eafay70 for editing this monster (y’all, it just grew), to @pob-lwc-caixa checking on me to make sure that it got done, To @ericdier-and-chill for actually going, “Hey, are you actually DONE with this thing?”

As you can gather, with such discerning company, I was unable to hide or slack off.  Considering that I have a whine and a moan when a story hits 15k (too long), let’s just say that when I hit 40k, I was about to rage quit because it kept going! However, because I knew I had to report to people who were going to call me on the carpet, I continued the grind. 

So yes, thank you ALL for making sure that everything got done. ALL MISTAKES (oooh there are a few) are all mine. 

I don’t think I have any insights re: this story, apart from the fact that I’ll look back at it fondly in due course, but not now. I have fonder memories about people hitting me up in my inbox making sure that I was hitting targets, tbh. 

I’m sure @itsadrizzit will have interesting things to say,  because her process was pretty technical with various artistic choices re: the soundscapes from what I saw and heard.

Anyway, I hope that you find effort  enjoyable! Massive thanks and respect to everyone who really helped to chip in, because it made the fic so much better! 

Right, back to work now. But I couldn’t not say anything, because it’s never too late and it’s always right to say thanks!.
