Shall I compare thee to a summers Day?
The Bard did once say
But when he wrote
That darling Note
To whom was it to?
In my eyes it is to you.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think about my inevitable death often
I think about who'd mourn me
Who wouldn't even know I died
And who wouldn't care
I think about how it would happen
A car crash or in the wrong place at the wrong time
Something self inflicted or a natural ending
I think about scenes from books and movies and shows
And I wonder if anyone would ever react that way to finding me
I'd hear sirens and wonder if one day they'll be on for me
I don't plan to die anytime soon
I want to live long
Long enough to actually live
Long enough to be more than the girl who dreams too much
Long enough to be someone
Someone good
Someone brave
Someone smart
Someone important
Someone
Not that I'm no one
I'm just not someone right now
I write down words that will never make sense
I spill my heart and guts until I'm finally enough
And one day I'll be enough
Dirt
Bury me under the mountain
Deep where the sun don't shine
And maybe then I'll feel
The same inside and out
Shovel dirt atop my head
Until the blanket of earth envelopes me whole
And the weight of my soul
May match the heft of the soil
Split apart the ground
And dump my bones into the cavern
Maybe then my lifeless corpse
Will have a purpose again

You are cold, but I embrace you warmly
Still- you strike fear into the hearts of men much braver than I
And yet I feel as though they do not understand you the way I do
You are cold
You are kind
You are brutal and ruthless and cruel
You are calm and comforting and beautiful
You are grand- grander than anyone knows
You are powerful- lying in wait for one to disrespect you
You will not tolerate disrespect
You will kill
You have killed
You are alive and you are life
You are the birth and death of all things
To you I came from, to you I will return
Until then- I will just watch and listen
Hearing your siren song to draw me in- and hold me closely
When I am done
when I am ready
I will come home to you
What a wonder
To come home to
Under the weeping Moon
You are not glowing as fondly today, Moon. Is it because you are competing with the stars?
You can not, must not, compare yourself to them, my dear. They are of an entirely different celestial fabric than you.
All are unique, but there is only one of you, one of your kind.
I know men have not stepped on them as they have stepped on you, and because of this, I mourn for you.
In spite of this, or maybe because of this, you must bask in the glory that others shine upon you. It is yours for the taking. Yours to behold, cherish.
Know this: You are admired by so many.
And you must shine on, even when none are looking. Especially then, because in the darkest of nights, and the nights are growing darker now, you are the brightest light we have.
