Regarding point 3, I have to ask - and I’ll be the first to admit I’m no expert here - are we now at the point where “we won’t have declared war on, and be engaged in armed conflict with, mainland Europe” being seen as a major sign of success for the future? I mean, I might be showing myself up as being hopelessly naive here, but I’ve gone all my life thinking that not being at war with Europe was kind of the normal state of affairs, not something we wanted to regard as being some unusually fortunate circumstance we want extra credit for.....
