ooo sketchbook pro? that’s actually a new one to me what’s it like?
Ohh heck, definitely check out Sketchbook Pro if you’re interested! It used to be subscription, but it’s now currently ~*~FREE~*~
It’s only so-so in terms of painting, since it’s intended mostly for drawing, and you can’t import PS brushes AFAIK. However, it’s great for sketching, and has many of the same layer types as PS or CSP. What I mostly use it for is drawing backgrounds, because it’s got terrific perspective tools that make drawing in correct perspective so much faster. Also really strong ellipses/curve tools, symmetry tools and line correction. Like for example, I used it to draw the ball pits in recent parts of PT, because there’s curve correction tools that let me draw perfect or near-perfect circles freehand.
It’s very bare-bones UI to focus on drawing first and foremost, so if you get confused by complex UI or menus, this will help with that. I’ve mostly had trouble exporting it back to PSD (it doesn’t keep layer modes as well as it says), but that’s a minor quibble. SO yeah if you’re interested, check it out!
