Last month, Finnish duo Pole Siblings took us to misty mountain tops and over mystical lakes with their ethereal song Carve. Now, just as the pair are about to set loose their new EP, Sköljer Bort Dig, invite us on a windswept journey across dark tundras, roiling oceans, and jagged cliffs with How Low, instead. A suspenseful edge embellishes their dramatically gripping, yet beautifully billowing alt pop. It’s a striking and riveting synth turbulent return, mired in palpable pain and despair. Sköljer Bort Dig arrives this Friday via STrangers Candy, pre-order digitally on Bandcamp, here.

Misty mountain tops and mystical lakes come to mind as I drift gently into the beauty of ethereal Carve, a song from Finnish duo Pole Siblings, who really are siblings in real life. Carve is the lead single from their EP, Sköljer Bort Dig, out April 6th via Stranger Candy. It’s a dewy enchanting, verdant soothing indie folk gem which, alongside the other three tracks on the forthcoming EP, weave magical stories about dealing with anger and letting go, sorrow and moving on. Carve was born out of anger and frustration at not being able to express yourself, as well as from dealing with grief that turns into feelings of vengeance. Indeed, the song slowly builds towards a cathartic and powerful finish. Its sonorous crescendo whisks us away way and lifts us far above those lush peaks. Pre-order Pole Siblings new EP from Bandcamp, here. Crave can be found on Apple Music, here.
