Every wondered which album has the best title? This tournament will find the answer!

I’m not sure if this is something anyone is interested in so if no one seems to like the idea I won’t go forward with it.

However, if this is a tournament people ARE interested in, here’s how it’ll work:

Submit any album title (including EPs) in this Google form. I haven’t decided how long it’ll stay open but I’ll announce that soon.

You can submit as many as you like, but please don’t send the same submission twice. The amount of suggestions I get for a particular album will not affect it’s participation in the tournament.

Each album will go head to head until we’re down to the winner. Y’all have seen other tournaments on here, you know how it goes.

As of right now I’m planning to include all submissions, but if I end up getting too many for that to be feasible (which I doubt will happen, but just in case) I’ll add a qualifying round.

I will not be altering the title regardless of any language used that someone might be offended by. I doubt anything too offensive will be submitted, but if there is something, I’ll tag a trigger warning.

Anyway… let the fun begin!

Remember that we will be voting based on the title only — not on the quality of the album.

Reminders:

Full-length albums and EPs are both allowed, but singles are not

You can submit albums in any language but I’d appreciate if you’d also give an English translation

If there is any context that makes the title better, feel free to include it

Soundtracks are allowed

Unreleased albums are ok as long as the title has already been confirmed. Rumored titles won’t be included.

Tournament updates!

First of all, thank you to everyone who has already submitted something! I’m loving seeing the range of albums people are sending in.

Based on the rate of submissions, I’m going to leave the form open until September 30 at 11:59 EST (UTC -4). Here’s a time zone converter if you’re not sure what time that is.

A few questions have come up in the form so here’s a little extra info about submissions:

Titles in any language are accepted (including ones with different alphabets). I will leave them in their original language on the poll but I’d really appreciate it if you give the English translation too (especially if it’s an idiom that won’t translate easily).

Soundtracks are accepted but please specify if that’s what you’re submitting.

Albums that haven’t been released yet are accepted as long as it is fully confirmed what the title will be. If the title is only rumored it will not be included.

If an album has a second colloquial name you can include that in the submission but please put the official title as well.

I think that’s everything that I’ve seen come up so far but if there’s any more questions feel free to send an ask or just ask something in the comments/reblogs.

Also, just a little extra info:

I’m going to double check spelling and stylization of every album before posting it so it’s ok if you’re not 100% sure if you’ve written it correctly.

I’m not going to put the artist in each poll which unfortunately means I can’t give context for the album titles if it relates to the artist. I still appreciate the extra info and I’ll post it when I reveal the artist (which I will do when the album is eliminated or when it wins the whole thing).

I’m still going through all the submissions (there were more than I anticipated and I fell a little behind) so the tournament will not be starting immediately. Sorry to those who are excited.

Polls will start on Friday October 10th. They will be staggered. As of right now I’m planning to post 24 polls a day (one each hour) so be sure to keep checking in cause new polls will be posted every day.

I’m randomly generating which albums go up against each other and the order each poll is posted. Every poll will be up for one week.

I decided I will be including the name of the artist, the year of release, and any other information that gives context to the title (that I know of) under the poll. I recommend that you think about which choice you’ll make before reading the extra info, but vote after reading the context. You’re free to do whatever you want though, I’m not your boss lol.

Some titles are long and won’t fit in the poll option so those will be listed underneath. In those cases I’ll specify that you should do that.

For titles in languages other than English, I’m going to put the translated title as the poll option so that everyone can read it, but below the poll I will include the original title so people can still see what the album is actually called.
