Jubilant for the poly ship meme!

Also, turned out long enough to go under a cut:

1. A large spider has gotten into the house/apartment. How does each person react?

None of them mind spiders at all (Yuuya and Sora especially think they’re cute), but they do probably try to get it out of the house quickly before one of their other pets notice and try to eat it.

2. What are their sleeping arrangements? Do they get multiple mattresses, several rooms? Line a floor with mattresses and then make the entire room a bed? Who are the blanket hoggers? The ones who flail?

Before they move in together, they had a bunch of sleepovers where they all just grabbed a blanket and pillows and slept together on the floor (despite Sora and Yuuya having their own rooms in the Sakaki household). After they got their own place, they made sure to get a bed big enough for three. Yuzu is a terrible blanket hog who refuses to believe this when people point it out to her. Sora sleeps the least and a lot of times he’ll still be wide awake after Yuzu and Yuuya are out for the night, but he likes being in bed with them anyway so he stays there.

3. How do they celebrate the holidays? What are the favorite holidays in the household for each person? Are there ever any disagreements about which holiday is the best? Do any of them go all out with decorations and participation in events? Does anyone ever suffer in silent agony that they’re being forced into holiday sweaters or fed too many holiday foods, but out of love they keep their mouth shut?

Sora likes Halloween and Valentine’s best. Yuuya loves Christmas, with all the lights and colorful decorations and music. They have disagreements on when it’s time to take down the Halloween decorations in favor of Christmas every single year and Yuzu has to mediate. Yuzu likes celebrating birthdays more than holidays - she prefers focusing on the people rather than the event, and always puts a lot of thought into how to make each year special.

4. How do they all keep house? Do they assign chores, and if so, does anyone ever slack? Does anyone ever say, “let’s clean” and (most?) everyone suddenly hops off the furniture and pitches in?

Yuuya and Yuzu aren’t super diligent about chores and cleaning, so they don’t really notice the kind of clutter they leave around. Sora, having grown up in essentially a military barrack, does notice and tidies compulsively without really thinking about it. Every now and then Yuuya and Yuzu notice he’s doing this and really make an effort to pitch in and clean the whole house up together, but inevitably they lose track and the cycle repeats.

5. Something contagious is going around! How will each of them handle being sick? Who are the ones who insist on working even when they’re not well? Who are the ones who stay away when they’re healthy? The ones who play nurse?

Yuuya tries to work through his illness and usually winds up making it worse and forcing him into bed rest. Yuzu gets all frustrated and scolds him when this happens, but then she does the exact same thing when she inevitably gets sick from him. Sora doesn’t hide when he gets sick, exactly, but he does get kind of. anxious and almost guilty about having to stay in bed, and needs extra reassurance that no one minds taking care of him. They all get sick right around each other too, because they are just too used to being cuddly and can’t avoid it.

6. The mess that is deciding where to eat out and what to order.

After many years of conflict as teens, they finally settle into a schedule of taking turns picking where they eat out. Priority can be shifted depending on what kind of specials are happening at someone else’s choice.

7. One or more of them comes across a stray animal. How do the family members each react? Who tries to find the previous owner? Does anyone want the others to mind their own business? Do they end up keeping it?

They keep every single stray animal they ever find. It’s a habit Yuuya picked up from his mom, and neither Yuzu nor Sora see any reason to try and restrain it (though Yuzu probably does at least go through the motions of putting up fliers to find the possible original owner). Their house is basically crawling with dogs and cats and a couple of reptiles, and they love all of them.

8. They take a trip to the zoo. What is each person’s favorite animal, and who gets excited about seeing theirs? Who downplays it? Who is willing to wait while the other drags everyone off to their favorite animals, and who tries to tell everyone they’re going to stick to the set path from beginning to end, and everyone will get to see their favorites soon so calm down?

Sora is ecstatic about zoos, he loves every animal and wants to look at all of them. Twice, if possible. Yuzu similarly wants to look at every animal, but she sometimes gets caught up in watching especially cute ones and has to be dragged away. Yuuya likes looking at the birds the most, so he spends some extra time with them and tries to catch up later on. They help give him costume ideas for performances sometimes.

9. Describe everyone going on a camping trip. Who enjoys it? Which one(s) set up the tent? Who would get lost in the woods but is only a few feet away from a gas station?

Sora’s definitely most used to roughing it and knows what he’s doing. Yuuya and Yuzu are athletic and enjoy hiking, but they don’t do very much camping and rely on him to show them what to do. They all wind up really enjoying it, though, and Sora has fun getting to play teacher.

10. Who tells the ghost stories or watches the ghost stories, and who are the ones who need a cuddle sandwich to get through the night every time they encounter anything the least bit spooky?

These three have ghost story telling competitions among themselves. They use special effects and everything. Yuuya and Yuzu scare more easily than Sora, but they just take that as a challenge.

11. Who steals everyone else’s clothing? Who can’t tell their own clothing from other people’s anymore?

Sora started it by playfully stealing Yuuya’s jacket a couple of times, so Yuuya tried to get him back by stealing his. Sora then went ‘okay fine, I’ll just wear Yuzu’s stuff instead’, so she started borrowing Yuuya’s jacket when she couldn’t find her own, and things have continued to spiral ever since. They can always tell who’s is what because Sora’s a size smaller than either of them, but as long as they’re either around the house or going out somewhere casual, it doesn’t really make a difference.

Stage costumes, however, are another story, and they are all very particular and strict about only wearing their own.

12. One of them starts singing. Who joins in? Who absolutely refuses to join in? If any of them can’t sing, does everyone roll with it, or do they stop and beg that person to stop as well?

Listen. All three of these kids would live in a musical if they could. They’ve got entire shows memorized, and if one of them starts, there’s a 90% chance they’ll all keep going until the end and sing every part if no one stops them.

13. Who is the warmest to cuddle with? Who is always cold? Who wants the heater up, who wants the heater down, who wants to save money but is cold as fuck and piles under layers of clothing and blankets in the house? Who dies in summer? Who wants to turn up the AC and wait out until winter?

Sora isn’t always cold, but he always wants to cuddle, no matter what the temperature is like. Even if this means laying on top of someone in the middle of summer. He can’t be stopped. Yuuya’s a little more tolerant of temperature (hot or cold), but heat really gets to Yuzu and it’s a testament of her love that she doesn’t shove Sora off immediately when he gets like that. She does, however, insist on sitting in front of the AC if he’s gonna cling to her.

14. When grocery shopping, who budgets and makes lists? Who happily throws things into the cart and figures it’ll work out? Who estimates their general spending as they pick up items, but they throw in a couple of splurges? Who oversees that the splurges don’t go too far and tells the other(s) to put some or all of the items back on the shelf?

Sora has no impulse control and cannot be allowed to grocery shop by himself. HE TRIES, he really does, but he needs someone around to rein him in or he winds up coming home with three cakes and half a dozen boxes of cookies. Yuzu and Yuuya usually work together to come up with the official list, and Sora gets to pick out a couple of things while they’re going to the store to throw in the cart.

15. Something broke down! Are any of them handy around the house with fixing things? Who thinks they can do it on their own and what level of success do they have? Who breaks down and calls a professional out?

They probably all have a little experience with small repairs by the time they’re living together, but Yuzu and Sora both tend to vastly overestimate how much they know how to do and balk at the idea of having to call a professional until something starts smoking. Maybe not even then if they’re really invested in the idea of being right.
