pansexual is the default sexuality for Lumerians, they're fish people, fish do cool funky gender and sexuality stuff, so the fish people do too
it's not something he thought about much until interacting with land-born societies, because again it was the norm underwater
Lemurians live for love, why would they deny themselves the chance to find their lover based on something as silly and arbitrary as gender?

as he got older, Zayne slowly began to integrate himself into that world
