So I officially am coming out as a Trans Demi-Boy that is Pansexual, Gray Asexual, and Polyamorous. And if you are going to judge and harrass me about being a Demi-Boy, if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all, and you can get the fuck off my blog if you do that, you Transphobic, panphobic, Gray-Acephobic, Polyphobic and Demiphobic looking ass clown. I saw you got an ask saying it doesn’t sound right to not be attracted to nonbinary people if you like men and women because they could be seen as either.. that’s the thing that often bothers me as a nonbinary person in gay/lesbian/bi spaces, it feels like a lot of people are saying that they have the right to interpret me as either “almost man” or “almost woman” so I automatically count in their sexuality even when they say they’re attracted to binary/aligned genders only

I’ve had to retype this like three times trying to articulate my thoughts but like i get you! I see people saying all sexualities include nonbinary people all the time and yet a lot of people never actually mention their attraction to enbies except in opposition to sexualities which explicitly specify attraction to nonbinary people (such as polysexuality). If these people made it clearer that enbies were included in their attraction separately to the binary gender(s) that they’re attracted to [eg. talking about how cute/hot enbies are, expressing desire for a datefriend etc] then it would likely be more comfortable for us to see them talk about how their attraction is enby-inclusive.

It should probably also be mentioned though that some people might be more willing to be open about the distinction between their attraction to binary and nonbinary people within sexualities that typically don’t include an inherent attraction to nonbinary people were it not for all the claims a few years back now I think that any cis person expressing an attraction to nonbinary people was “fetishising” them, even when talking about them in the same way they would talk about a binary person (I think it was probably intended to reduce enby positivity and make them feel unloveable or something).

Does that make sense? idk

*note: while I’ve talked about sexuality here the same does of course apply to romantic orientation
