Principality is a rather aloof influencer whose allowed to exist outside of the monarchys grasp (as much as they can influence anything connected to Discord) because they're seemingly not super concerned with anything of value. Despite taking caution to be courteous, because of his nature as a draconequus some ponies consider them to be cruel. In reality, she lives by the quote "if you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all." Under his blank expression they've got a selfless heart, even if her desire to help leads to some shortsighted actions.
