Malfoy was kissing him.

On the mouth. He had one hand in Harry’s hair, another on the bench behind his head and he was kissing him.

Harry just sat there, mind blank, until Malfoy pulled away, smiling slightly, lips pink. “Are you okay?” he whispered.

“What are you doing,” Harry asked tonelessly, his voice feeling much too loud in the small space between them.

Malfoy’s smile slid off his face.

In an ideal world, Adriano would continue to spend his days playing and enjoying his childhood. In the one he lives in, with a mother that can barely afford to keep food on their table and a roof over their heads, there is no time for such tender-heartedness. Adriano is old enough now to take over caring for the garden and the house while Constanza works, so she makes him do exactly that.

It may ease the sensibilities of modern readers to know that this use of child labour does not mean that Constanza had more leisure; she worked as hard as ever, merely without the pressure of most of her household chores and a better-kept garden. And for what it’s worth, Adriano actually enjoys taking care of the plants. Luckily, his skin is not yet sensitive to the sunlight – that vampiric trait will only develop when he gets older.

Also, and Constanza doesn’t like to admit that to herself, she doesn’t know how long her health will support the constant strain. Her son will be better off learning self-sufficiency now, while she is still there to watch over him.

They want to paint your portrait! For a paying client or some other reason but at this point no asking for $.

You give them a reference photo

They wait a little before sending your photo back to you with a sketch filter applied

At this point (if you don’t have fine arts training or know about sketch filter) you’ll be excited about the detail in the sketch. The portrait is ostensibly for a client but now they have you on the hook for a discounted print. Or perhaps the discounted original when the ‘client’ changes his mind.

If you decide to purchase the painting they might even send you a print with some photo edits to make it look painterly. Or they might take the $ and run. Portrait artists don’t generally approach YOU!

My clients approach me because they’ve seen my work and want a portrait in my style.

since mutt and black are fighting, how do you think theyd do when its the others birthday?

They are fighting but still very much love each other. They're both still very concerned for the other's well-being and all that.

But on the birthday thing, they never really celebrated. It wasn't a thing in their Underground, nor was it a thing in Red and Edge's. The most any Fell types do for birthdays is maybe a small gift, if they can do it discretely enough that no one else notices. Can't have other monsters knowing you care about someone after all.

But since coming to the Surface, that culture has been something they've been more introduced to. But they still feel a bit uncomfortable with it, so the most they do is a gift and a "Happy Birthday." Which they still do even when fighting. Any birthday parties would be because of one of the non-fell type skeletons.
