What if Eric was the ghost, like a silly condemned soul wandering aimlessly in limbo for eternity for his irredeemable sins, desperately trying to find Alan or the last soul he needs except he just circles around crystal Palace everyday because he never remembers where he checked the day before so it's just ean endless loop of searching and

And poor Eric just wants to help Alan but he can find neither him or the last soul anywhere

And if confronted by a reaper, he still fights back despite his hesitation and let's them get as many hits as they can despite not being able to be reaped or hit

He also can and will crumble the longer someone talks to him just cause he's been so lonely and sad for years
