Gene has terrible handwriting. he’s lived in Technopolis, where writing by hand is never needed and has only ever typed. put him in a situation where he actually has to write something down, it takes forever and looks awful and his friends tease him for it forever.

Alex and Twinkle both have really nice handwriting. Twinkle probably writes in calligraphy.

Ruby does not have particularly pretty handwriting, but since pirates have to be able to write clearly enough to be able to read maps her writing is easy to read.

Alien can write in his own language and has learnt to write in english as well. he writes quite clearly in both, which Gene is eternally jealous of.
