how do you think mare and cal would feel when the other died. like not a tragic death just like old age. shade and corianne are both adults and have there own families and mare and cal are loving grandparents and cal or mare just doesn’t wake up one morning. i can totally see them obviously being upset but not as upset if they had like died during the war or something. cause they knew they got to live a life with them and that the other passed warm in there bed loved. i also feel like whoever didn’t die would pass shortly after and everyone would say they died of a broken heart or they couldn’t stay apart for long or something. i’m making myself tear up typing this💀
Damn love... you really came for me today. I mean wow. Like damn. On one hand, I feel like one would follow the other into death. On the other, I feel like the one who was left would feel a duty to stay as long as possible to keep and eye on Cori/Shade and to make sure that things are just in order for them. Plus, I feel like that the one that is left would feel as if they have to stay with the kids to help them through the grieving process of losing a parent. The Barrow Calore family is very close after all and losing a member of it would be devastating to all involved.
But I do think that if one of them died in their sleep, the one who wakes up would just kind of lay there for a little bit in silence, just processing before sitting up. I dont think they would grieve funny enough? I mean they would obviously be sad, but they would also be glad that they went that way and not in a violent way.
