I have to replace the bulk of the drain system in my house this afternoon. I got almost everything dry-fitted yesterday so today is mostly glue-up but it's a complicated process due to all the connectors being so close together and I am feeling sick and overwhelmed and exhausted today. I didn't get to sleep last night until 3am because my anxiety was flaring up over how I was going to manage to get all the parts aligned as I'm gluing them. And it has to be done today because I have to go to work tomorrow and my partner needs to work from home. Oh yeah, and the only thing resembling training I have in plumbing is that I earned the associated merit badge when I was a scout in the early 00s.
I get that I am saving so much money by only having to pay $100 in parts vs it costing at least that much just to get a contractor to look at it and it's pretty impressive of me to be so handy but fuck... I wish I could just pay someone to do these things. I hate being poor even though it's made me super resourceful and versatile.
