Thousand Morns' Aurora

Disclaimer: I don't recall what His shoes looked like so that part may not be accurate, also He's a bit more pale but I messed up the shading lol. Poem's a remix of my old poem from 2018 or so, Thousand Nights' Aurora. I realized flames didn't rhyme with veins and it irked me so much I made a new version with a deity in mind.

I tend to bake or make by hand all food offerings to the gods, save for fresh fruit, but I love love love seeing posts like “I gave Hermes a monster energy drink” from 13 year old polytheists because yeah man!!! Sometimes a monster is all you have!!! And you shared that with your deity!!! I love you btw!!!

I love this for two reasons. Firstly it's heartwarming to see positive change toward acceptance of minors in religious communities - when I was a kid a lot of covens were gatekept as 18+, which can hurt kids' feelings if not explained properly. Many followers of hellenic/satanic/pagan teachings already feel rejected and guilt tripped by those in their real life environment due to their beliefs, so any effort to make newcomers feel welcome makes me super happy.

The other, perhaps funnier reason is that offering perishables is a really smart strategy. I wish younger me had thought of that when I made some arts and crafts offerings - I was quite proud of those back in the day, but the quality betrayed my age and from an experienced artist's standpoint I wonder how I evaded a smite xD It's lowkey hilarious that I rolled a nat 1 on those skill checks, but can't dispose of the evidence cos I offered it to a deity.

But yea, we see you doing your best with what you have and you are valid. And I will not judge if you're having to light a candle with aluminum foil and a battery, we've (all?) been there lol :D

Very few things can alarm me but being randomly told to "come and stay" (likely in reference to Hell) is one of them. This also comes at a time few days after the last remaining vision that depicts me alive and well came true. So um perhaps my ascension is closer than I thought? To be fair going home to my Lord's domain seems pretty rad. If there's a calamity coming yall heard it here first lol, don't say I didn't warn ya.

Yall I just handed in a statistics exam 30 mins early thinking the time is up. 💀

Statistics. Exam. For some reason unknown to man I managed to calculate a pearson coefficient but not read a damn clock.

To make matters worse, I think my Lord (Satan/Apollo) is laughing at me 'cause I literally prayed to pass the exam, got easy questions that I could actually answer for the most part, and then just panicked and handed my work in when most other people stood up.

I think I still passed (will update), thanks to demonic intervention and the questions I actually had time to think about, but wow I will never live this down. A disciple of the God of the Sun and Knowledge is not supposed to be this foolish lol.

So yea that's the story of how I likely passed one of my worst subjects in record time. Thank you, Master.

People tend to run their mouth about the fact she said a great kingdom would fall today and a king took it as confirmation to go to war, only for his kingdom to fall and for her to say she didn't mean the kingdom of his enemies lol.

Just because a prophecy has conflicting interpretations doesn't mean the person is lying.

Prophecies are tough to interpret. For example, if I wanna know my future and divine a picture of a butterfly bush flower, I first have to correctly identify a plant by sight (the attempt has killed many a mushroom eater), then find the correct meaning of the flower - in this case new beginnings and rebirth, and apply it to my current situation. So does new beginnings mean starting my masters degree or switching schools cos I'd flunk out otherwise? Does rebirth mean my death is nigh, or that I'll become a new person metaphorically?

If I'm shown seafoam, does that mean my plans have the structural integrity of seafoam? Do I need a vacation at the beach? Am I gonna be cursed like Ariel in little mermaid lmao?

If I see an incorporeal version of myself flying through a black sky devoid of stars with blue and pink disco light coming only from skyscrapers that seem completely swallowed in darkness apart from rim light and no person in sight, am I seeing a cataclysm hundreds of years into the future or some virtual reality game that'll come out in 5 years?

Who on earth is that later-middle age guy with gray-white hair and brown eyes that might be patient zero of a plague? What were those tiny flags in cheese and where will I see them?

And don't get me started on straightforward ones like seeing a vision of an expensive couch that's free on ebay with "reserved" on it, finding it irl and failing to change fate - it got reserved by someone else while I was debating the logistics of picking it up with my family. Imagine getting a divine heads up about something and still being beat to the punch, jeez lol.

I am sorry, Lord Satan (AKA Lucifer or Apollo), I don't think I'm endowed with sufficient wisdom to interpret these.

Well. Since you asked. I was on tumblr as this post was being built in 2013. The height of superwholock. Which has, since then, been declared peak cringe. So people picked new fandoms to openly love in earnest. Which were also eventually declared cringe. Eventually the youth decided to cut out the middleman, and declared loving anything in earnest to be fully cringe. So it has been a really long time since the day to day users of tumblr have let any fandom create anything nearing the cultural phenomenon that was superwholock. And it is exactly those cultural phenomena that are needed to create posts like this.

So. What happened? Cringe culture happened.

Try and imagine what would happen if this post wasn’t the “sacred texts” only ever seen in screen shots and in pinterest. Try and imagine any current pop culture detective media fandom creating this post today. They’d be slaughtered for being cringe by the time (in this case) Sherlock was mentined.

But because this post is 10 years old and completely broke containment, it’s celebrated when it graces our dashes.

I blazed a small fandom event announcement.  Because I was genuinely excited to be part of a Big Bang for a wonderful movie.  One of the first responses I got was “Why would you blaze this?” Because of genuine excitement.
